Developing strategic marketing direction of key assets in AbbVie’s Eye Care pipeline, primarily in the retina therapeutic area space. The Associate Director will play an integral role in helping to shape & progress the commercial portfolio priorities that support the long-term growth objectives for the Eye Care franchise. The role supports PCS Eye Care BU needs via close collaboration with a matrixed list of stakeholders involved in cross-functional strategic portfolio planning & pipeline asset strategy development. The Associate Director will report to the Eye Care Pipeline Commercia Strategy Director and will be preferably based in AbbVie’s offices in Lake County, IL. Responsibilities: Provide strategic & project level support to PCS Director by helping to communicate vision and overall strategy to all related stakeholder groups - gaining insights, commitment and support to guide portfolio prioritization & asset strategy Understand retina market, key segment value drivers, growth opportunities, target product profiles, product positioning and revenue potential for multiple assets/indications within the eye care franchise in order to provide winning portfolio value proposition plans & strong P&L/investment decision-making support Drive optimal go-to-market analysis for major global markets based on emerging landscape & competitive insights that can refine portfolio optimization to outperform the competition Manage indication prioritization & geostrategy implications for later stage assets within eye care BU in partnership with R&D teams, US & Intl commercial marketing & payer teams, including Area & Affiliates to ensure aligned best in class global launch preparation Co-creation of early brand plans; crystalizing commercial & strategic insights by synthesizing product, brand, customer, consumer, and competitive information into the development of global asset plans, including strategic positioning and early launch planning Strong collaborator & driver of results across multiple program projects including Market Research insights generation, KOL engagement & AOP consulting management, Governance preparation, Geostrategy & associated budget management responsibilities Drives data generation in order to satisfy Global requirements for target product labels and target product claims Partner with Global Medical Affairs to help develop physician & patient insights that inform overall scientific platform narrative Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required. Proven marketing experience with increased proficiency in all marketing skills. Previous cross franchise/cross channel marketing experience preferred. Collaborative nature and ability to influence and guide cross-functional stakeholders Inquisitive, strong analytical skills, including the ability to infer and apply learnings Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail and follow-through on execution. Strong project management abilities and critical work tool experience
