Producer, Reuters World News (Level 1 Journalist, Temp Guild) Reuters World News is Reuters' flagship daily news program, delivering authoritative reporting and analysis to global audiences across streaming and podcast platforms.As Reuters expands its portfolio of video and audio products, we're developing new shows and formats that help audiences understand the forces shaping politics, business, technology, markets and global affairs. We're looking for an ambitious and creative TEMPORARY Producer to help develop and produce new video and audio programming from Washington, D.C. This is a great opportunity for someone who understands Washington's influence across geopolitics, economics, technology, regulation and financial markets, and can translate that into engaging, accessible journalism.About the RoleIn this opportunity as Producer, Reuters World News, you will:Develop and produce original video and audio programming focused on the intersection of Washington, business, technology, markets and global affairsIdentify and shape story ideas that help audiences understand the impact of decisions made in Washington on people, companies and economies around the worldWork with Reuters correspondents, editors and producers to book guests, develop segments and build episodesWrite scripts, interview briefs and editorial materials that are accurate, engaging and audience-focusedProduce and edit video and audio content for streaming, podcast and digital platformsConduct research and help translate complex policy, regulatory and geopolitical developments into clear, compelling storytellingHost segments or interviews when appropriateCollaborate with teams across multiple bureaus and time zones to develop ambitious, distinctive journalismContribute ideas for new formats, franchises and audience-growth opportunitiesAbout YouYou're a fit for the role of Producer, Reuters World News if you have the following required qualifications:Experience producing video, audio or digital journalism in a fast-paced news environmentStrong understanding of Washington's political, regulatory and policy landscapeExcellent news judgment and a demonstrated ability to identify stories that resonate beyond the daily political cycleUnderstanding of how Washington shapes global geopolitics, business, technology, financial markets and international affairsStrong writing, scripting and storytelling skillsExperience producing and editing video and/or audio contentAbility to work collaboratively across a global newsroomStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyYou'll stand out if you also have:Experience producing interviews, explainers, documentaries or news magazine-style programmingOn-camera or audio hosting experienceExperience developing new editorial products, shows or content franchisesKnowledge of U.S. government institutions, policymaking processes and regulatory agenciesFamiliarity with audience trends across streaming, podcast and digital platforms.We're looking for someone with curiosity about the forces shaping the world beyond daily political headlines, a sophisticated understanding of how Washington influences global events, economies and markets. Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and/or Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC. The base compensation hourly range for the role in any of those locations is $39 USD - $70 USD/hr.
