Product Design Engineer - Beats

The Beats Product Design team is seeking a product design engineer to design and develop new, cutting-edge products to expand our industry-leading product portfolio. Minimum Qualifications: BS Mechanical Engineering 3D CAD Expertise 2+ years of product design experience, or equivalent Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning (GD&T) at sub-assembly and full system levels Ability to travel internationally (up to 20%) Flexibility and comfort working in a rapidly changing environment Preferred Qualifications: MS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Hands-on consumer electronic product design experience in a fast-paced and high-volume production environment Direct experience with audio products and/or highly complex, wearable devices Experience with NX, TeamCenter, or Agile Broad range of experience designing for various materials and processes: plastic injection/compression molding, metal machining, metal forming/stamping, extensive material finishing, and cosmetic treatments Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and ability to use statistical tools and techniques to support design Ability to work with Industrial Design to assess product features for manufacturability and recommend capable processes, equipment, etc. Experience with component modules (audio drivers, connectors, batteries, electronics packaging, antennas, PCBAs) Experience working with overseas manufacturers Experience with basic finite element analysis and general mechanical engineering analysis Excellent written and verbal communication skills and people skills; ability to interact with management, team members, and external vendors to achieve project goals and contribute positively to the engineering community
