HYBRID ROLE Job Purpose: Our Payroll Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees within the organization. The successful candidate must have excellent analytical skills with the ability to process and review payroll data and documents for discrepancies and errors ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing. In addition, the candidate will partner with the Manager, Payroll and Compliance in optimizing HR Services processes that intersect with payroll as well as provide related support to the HR organization. Actively support other functions as needed. Job Responsibilities: ● Complete routine payroll tasks, balancing and reporting resulting in accurate payroll processing for all employees in the U.S. ● Develop working knowledge of payroll-impacting policies and procedures and regulations, adhering to mandatory procedures to ensure own work is undertaken to the required standards. ● Document payroll processes in order to ensure consistency and accountability of team members and SOX requirements. ● Partner with manager and other members of HR Services to identify and implement optimization and automation opportunities within day-to-day payroll processing, reporting, etc. ● Partner with 3rd party vendor on ad hoc payroll issues and questions. ● Serve as Veritiv payroll analytics expert including ongoing support for reporting. ● Partner with Workday time tracking system liaison to reconcile any questions or issues on a routine basis. ● Work with HR Services team on payroll-related projects and duties. Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications: ● Finance/Payroll experience required. ● Workday experience preferred. ● Proficiency in Windows based software required; Excel expertise preferred. ● Capable of working with highly confidential and sensitive information at the highest business level, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. ● Must be action oriented with ability to learn on the fly and multi-task. ● Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required. Ability to communicate effectively with HR/Service Center/Manager and Employee contacts is critical, including conflict resolution. ● Strong problem solving and attention to detail skills are required. Work Experience: ● 5-10 years of related job experience. ● Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment. ● Ability to work quickly and efficiently. ● Basic experience of simple office/operational systems. ● Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required. ● Experience of interpreting strategy and policy in order to set and deliver objectives. ● Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).
