Drive the evolution of Wellmark's large group sales and renewal capabilities by leading the design, development, and continuous enhancement of our Stepwise product quoting platform. In this role, you will solve complex business and technical challenges through system configuration, API development, data integration, and backend engineering solutions that directly impact sales growth, customer retention, and operational efficiency. As a technical leader and trusted partner, you will create scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions while collaborating closely with business and technology stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into impactful technology outcomes. You will leverage your expertise to guide engineering decisions, champion best practices, and ensure solutions align with Wellmark's standards for quality, performance, and security. This is a high-visibility opportunity to influence a critical sales enablement product and deliver enhancements that create measurable value for both our customers and our business. Preferred: Data Engineering experience API Development Experience Experience working within an Agile team environment. Experience partnering with global staffing vendors to deliver projects. Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field of study and at least 5 years of development experience (ex. Angular, NodeJS, TypeScript, C++, .NET, Java, SQL) OR 9 years of related and applicable experience. Strong analytical problem-solving skills. Accuracy and high attention to detail. Previous experience troubleshooting and developing creative technical solutions. Ability to provide innovative solutions to complex issues. Demonstrated experience in software development lifecycle methodologies.
