Software Engineer, Cloud Interconnect Networking

Job description

Design, develop, and improve systems that connect customer networks to Google Cloud. Collaborate with different teams across Google to create and launch new products and features. Produce completed work of consistently high quality, demonstrating hallmarks of fleshed-out Google engineering artifacts (e.g., code that is well-factored, testable, resilient to failure, modifiable) and generally leaving artifacts like code and documentation better than they were found. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience working in C++, Python, Go, or a similar language. 2 years of experience with network architectures, protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP), and technologies. 2 years of experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects. 1 year of experience diagnosing and troubleshooting one of the following: operating systems and computer/server hardware or networking protocols. Experience with Java or Go, with the ability to resolve customer-related issues. Experience building distributed systems and backend services and familiarity with gRPC and Protocol Buffers. Excellent communication skills.
