You will be a member of the Collins Product Cybersecurity Organization (PCO) supporting strategic defense and protected communication systems programs. The Product Cybersecurity Engineering DoD East Florida team is hiring a Principal Embedded Systems Security Engineer to support programs for our US military and various international customers, keeping the world safe from foreign threats. This team supports multiple Collins contracts and is seeking to fill roles across several open contracts – our goal is to align each new hire with a position that best suits their skills and allows for career growth. The ideal candidate will be proficient in requirement allocation and decomposition, analyzing system architectures, designing security features and principles, assessing security vulnerabilities (scanning), and formal cybersecurity test and evaluation (CT&E). The candidate will report to the Senior Manager of Cybersecurity Engineering and work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams on the program they support. This role will be worked hybrid in Largo, FL; days onsite pending business needs. Requires an active SECRET clearance. Relocation assistance is available. What You Will Do: • Lead RMF Authorization to Operate (ATO) and NSA Type 1 Cryptographic Certification activities, including planning, development and review of security documentation, assessment evidence, findings, and remediation activities • Lead cybersecurity requirement decomposition, allocation, implementation, and verification across system-level architectures, interfaces, and major system components • Perform system-level analysis of requirements, models, interfaces, and architectures to identify security vulnerabilities and establish security requirements, mitigations, and verification methods • Lead security engineering participation in system design reviews and document system-level security risks, technical recommendations, and required corrective actions • Lead integration of security requirements across systems engineering, software, hardware, and test disciplines and track security issues through implementation, verification, and closure • Lead security-focused SV&V activities, including development of test strategies, test plans, test procedures, test cases, test conduct, results analysis, and remediation recommendations • Coordinate cybersecurity engineering activities across multiple engineering disciplines and resolve security issues affecting system requirements, architecture, design, implementation, and verification • Evaluate security threats, vulnerabilities, technologies, and applicable security guidance and determine impacts to system architectures, requirements, and certification activities • Provide technical direction to other security engineers and review security engineering products, analyses, and verification results for assigned systems Qualifications You Must Have: • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience. • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearanceActive and transferable SECRET U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start dateExperience performing or leading cybersecurity or product security engineering activities for embedded, aerospace, defense, or other mission-critical systemsExperience applying Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes to system certification, authorization, or security assessment activitiesExperience developing and reviewing technical security documentation, including security requirements, security assessments, certification artifacts, and verification documentationExperience decomposing, allocating, implementing, and verifying cybersecurity requirements across system architectures, interfaces, and componentsExperience analyzing system requirements, models, diagrams, interfaces, and architectures to identify security risks and develop security requirements and mitigation strategiesExperience leading or coordinating security-focused system verification and validation activities, including development of test strategies, test plans, procedures, test conduct, results analysis, and remediation recommendationsExperience coordinating cybersecurity engineering activities across systems engineering, software, hardware, and test organizationsQualifications We Prefer:
