The Junior Technician is an entry-level, production-focused role responsible for performing routine service tasks while developing foundational technical skills across multiple environments. This role contributes to daily service output while building the capability to diagnose, repair, and maintain marine systems with increasing independence. Working under the guidance of experienced technicians, the Junior Technician demonstrates learning agility, strong work execution, and ownership of assigned tasks, with the goal of progressing to an independent technician role. Essential Functions: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, winterization, and component replacements, with a focus on quality and efficiency. Support diagnostic, repair, and installation activities across marine systems while progressively increasing independence. Contribute to daily production by completing assigned service tasks accurately, efficiently, and with minimal rework. Follow established repair procedures, service manuals, and safety protocols consistently. Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, developing technical capability through hands-on experience. Review service orders and specifications to support accurate and efficient work execution. Track and record labor, time, and task completion to support productivity and workflow management. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment aligned with company safety standards. Support vessel staging, movement, and operational readiness across service locations. Assist with refurbishment and reconditioning activities as required by location. Collaborate with team members to resolve repair challenges and improve workflow efficiency. Participate in training programs, team meetings, and communications using company systems (e.g., Outlook, Microsoft Teams). Support events, promotions, and boat shows as needed, including setup and operational assistance. Perform additional duties as assigned to meet operational and service needs. Required Qualifications: Basic mechanical or technical experience gained through work, education, or personal projects. Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks with accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to learn in a hands-on, production-driven environment. Familiarity with hand tools; ability to provide personal basic-use tools and toolbox. Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems (e.g., batteries, charging systems). Ability to follow standardized procedures, technical instructions, and safety requirements. Basic computer proficiency and ability to document completed work. Strong work ethic, reliability, and accountability for assigned tasks. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Valid driver’s license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) per company standards. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a mechanical or technical field (marine, automotive, powersports, HVAC, or similar). Completion of technical training, trade school, or certification program. Familiarity with marine systems, boating operations, or vessel handling. Exposure to service environments such as dealerships, operations centers, or refurbishment facilities. Travel Requirements: This position requires daily travel to and from club locations. Working Conditions: Performs work in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions. Operates boats, motorized equipment, hand tools, and power tools as required. Frequently lifts, carries, or moves objects up to 50 pounds. Performs physical tasks in a variety of positions, including bending, kneeling, and working in confined or elevated spaces. Works in proximity to water, docks, and marine environments. Ascends and descends ladders and boards vessels as part of daily responsibilities. The anticipated pay for this position is $20.00, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role.
