Job description

This position is responsible for the over-all management of the depot and its services, including acting as the support role for clients on the phone or in person, entering client and sample information into the LIMS, preparing supplies for clients and coordinating the day –to-day client pick-ups/drop-offs with the GTA drivers. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Receiving samples from clients at the counter directly or by courier delivery Sorting the samples and making note of any deficiencies Discussing the project with the client to ensure clarity of the requirements, if necessary Using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to log-in the samples and generate labels Preparing bottles for client pick-up or shipping Keeping adequate stock for the depot Ensuring rush orders are appropriately managed with the Laboratory Coordinate sample pickups and drop offs with the Project Managers, Drivers and clients Good understanding of IT and PC applications and software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Good communication skills Work solo effectively and efficiently Knowledge of environmental samples is essential Self-starter, ambitious and energetic Self-directed and able to work independently/alone Lab experience essential Strong organizational skills Excellent telephone and people skills Able to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day
