Overview We are seeking a DevSecOps Technology Consultant to join Microsoft Federal and support the delivery of secure, cloud-first solutions for U.S. Government customers. Microsoft Federal was established to address the unique mission, compliance, security, and procurement requirements of the United States Government (USG). Our teams work directly with federal agencies to design, deploy, and operate mission-critical solutions in highly regulated environments. As a DevSecOps Technology Consultant, you will work alongside cloud architects, platform engineers, and security professionals to help customers modernize infrastructure, automate delivery pipelines, and implement secure cloud platforms in Microsoft Azure. This role is ideal the consultant who is passionate about cloud engineering, automation, platform operations, cybersecurity, and infrastructure as code. You will gain hands-on experience with Azure services, DevSecOps practices, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and secure workload deployment within government environments. This role is focused on developing the next generation of Azure and DevSecOps consultants who can help federal customers modernize legacy environments, accelerate secure cloud adoption, and deliver mission-critical capabilities through automation, platform engineering, and security-first practices. Participates in the pre-sale process as needed. Helps scope the project by sharing customer or technical knowledge in their specialty domain by leveraging their expertise as a subject matter expert. Maintains tools with up-to-date skills and availability. Participates in and/or may lead meetings with customers/partners to understand their business needs and/or scenario they are trying to solve. Engages others appropriately to understand and define customer requirements. Communicates the business value of planned solutions to customers/ partners with direction/guidance. Implements mitigations on technical and business risks. Manages their schedule and communicates to project leads. Delivers against Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). Oversees aspects of implementation. Acts as an ambassador in consumption of intellectual property (IP) and leverages IP in projects. Proactively assists in the creation of intellectual property content and seeks areas that are available for more IP. Communicates areas that need refreshing or gaps in intellectual property. Provides feedback for continuous improvement. Identifies opportunities to expand or accelerate the adoption and consumption of the cloud and Microsoft technologies. Responsibilities - Support Azure cloud engineering and DevSecOps initiatives for Microsoft Federal customers - Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices - Assist with the deployment, configuration, and operation of Azure-based environments and services - Contribute to the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git-based workflows - Support containerized workloads and platform services, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) - Help integrate security controls, vulnerability scanning, and compliance requirements throughout the software delivery lifecycle - Monitor cloud environments and assist with troubleshooting infrastructure, deployment, and application issues - Collaborate with architects, engineers, cybersecurity teams, and customer stakeholders to deliver mission-focused solutions - Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical design discussions, and peer reviews - Document technical implementations, operational procedures, and engineering best practices - Continuously learn and adopt modern cloud, automation, and security technologies Growth & Development This role provides a pathway into Azure Engineering, Platform Engineering, Cloud Architecture, or DevSecOps consulting roles. Operational Excellence Completes operational tasks and readiness and ensures timeliness and accuracy while maintaining adherence to security standards through Delivery Compliance, Privacy, and Security (DCPS). Follows Microsoft policies, compliance, and procedures (e.g., Enterprise Services Authorization Policy, Standards of Business Conduct, labor logging, expenses, travel guidelines).
