Job Overview Qualcomm is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Staff DSP Software Integration Engineer to join the DSP Platform Software team and play a key role in commercializing industry-leading embedded DSP and NPU software technologies. In this role, you will drive software integration, debug, validation, and release readiness for complex embedded platforms powering AI, camera, audio, and other next-generation use cases. You will work across software, firmware, hardware, tools, and system teams to improve development efficiency, strengthen release processes, and accelerate commercialization through advanced automation and agentic AI-driven workflows. The ideal candidate combines deep embedded software expertise with strong system-level debugging skills, software integration experience, and a passion for driving quality and operational excellence across large-scale engineering organizations. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience. OR PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience. • 2+ years of experience with high-performance microprocessor design. Key Responsibilities Drive integration, validation, and commercialization of embedded DSP and NPU software solutions across Qualcomm platforms. Debug complex software and system issues in real-time embedded environments using hardware debuggers, software debuggers, logs, traces, and crash dump analysis. Develop and improve continuous integration, automated testing, and software release processes to increase product quality and engineering efficiency. Leverage AI-driven tools and automation to enhance build, release, triage, and validation workflows. Manage software configuration and source control processes using GitHub and related development frameworks. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams including hardware, firmware, systems, tools, and architecture teams to identify, prioritize, and resolve critical issues. Drive issue investigation and root cause analysis across software components and platform layers. Integrate and test software on target hardware platforms while ensuring performance, stability, and readiness for product deployment. Partner with global engineering teams and, when required, support OEM customers and technology partners during product commercialization activities. Contribute to technical planning, process improvements, and engineering best practices across the software organization. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and 6+ years of software engineering experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and 5+ years of software engineering experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and 4+ years of software engineering experience. Required Technical Experience 3+ years of programming experience in one or more languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java. Experience developing or integrating software within embedded systems environments. Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills across software and hardware interactions. Experience with source control, software configuration management, and Git-based development workflows. Experience with continuous integration, automated testing, and software release processes. Ability to work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines and geographically distributed teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with DSP, NPU, AI/ML, multimedia, camera, audio, or edge-computing technologies. Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded system architectures. Familiarity with SoC architectures and low-level software development. Experience analyzing system logs, traces, crash dumps, and performance data. Knowledge of software build systems, test automation frameworks, and release engineering practices. Experience driving large-scale software integration efforts from development through commercialization.
