Job description
Are you ready to lead a global proposals function at the center of one of the world's most influential financial institutions? As Global Head of Proposals, Treasury & Trade Solutions at Citi, you will hold full accountability for the strategy, quality, and transformation of a globally distributed proposals function spanning five regional cluster teams and a strategic third-party vendor partnership. This is a director-level leadership role that sits at the intersection of client excellence, commercial impact, and AI-enabled transformation — shaping how Citi competes and wins in the market. Responsibilities Define and execute the global proposals vision for Citi's Treasury & Trade Solutions business, setting the direction for five regional cluster teams to deliver high-impact, commercially compelling client proposals. Lead and develop regional team leaders across all clusters, establishing a high-performance culture built on accountability, continuous learning, and measurable results. Establish global standards, quality frameworks, and governance for proposal production — tracking win rates, turnaround times, and client feedback to drive continuous improvement. Design and deliver a solutions upskilling program across the global proposals function, covering cash management, trade finance, liquidity solutions, payments, escrow, and digital treasury tools. Build and lead an industry sector intelligence program that equips proposals professionals with the contextual knowledge needed to position Citi's solutions against each client's specific business environment. Oversee the outsourced vendor relationship — managing contract governance, performance expectations, SLAs, and quality standards to ensure the vendor team operates as a seamless extension of the internal function. Drive the adoption of generative AI, intelligent automation, and advanced analytics across the proposals function — leading the transformation of how proposals are produced, personalized, and optimized at scale. Manage the global proposals budget, allocating resources effectively across internal and external teams to maximize efficiency and responsiveness to business demand. Required Qualifications & Skills 15+ years of experience, including 8+ years' managerial experience. Significant experience in proposals, bid management, or client-facing functions within financial services, transaction banking, or a comparable global institution, with a background that spans both strategic and operational ownership. Demonstrated ability to lead large, globally distributed teams across multiple geographies and time zones, with direct experience developing and managing regional team leaders. Deep knowledge of treasury, trade, and transaction banking products and services, with the ability to engage credibly with product specialists and translate complex capabilities into client-relevant narratives. Experience managing outsourced or third-party vendor relationships at scale, including contract governance, capacity planning, and performance management. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of crafting and elevating compelling, client-centric narratives at a senior level. Strong analytical mindset with experience using data and performance metrics to guide resource allocation, identify capability gaps, and improve outcomes across a global function. Experience leading significant organizational transformation and change management programs, including technology adoption and process re-engineering. Bachelor's degree required. Beneficial Skills & Qualifications Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) that demonstrates strategic thinking and commercial depth. Professional certifications in bid management, such as APMP Foundation or Practitioner, that reflect a structured and disciplined approach to proposals excellence. Hands-on experience evaluating, piloting, or implementing AI-powered tools within a proposals or content function, with the ability to translate technology capabilities into practical workflows for non-technical teams. Cultural fluency across multiple global markets — including NAM, LATAM, UK & Europe, MEA, and Asia — built through direct experience leading teams across these regions.
