Collins is seeking Engineers to be part of an engineering team for the AF DCGS High Band Mission Applications Software (HBMAS) Sustainment and Development program. Under this effort, RTX Collins personnel will oversee/perform software development and sustainment for cloud-enabled systems that ingest, tag, and audit data sets, while maintaining security, integrity, and availability of data. The team, working with our customers and users, will focus on developing and fielding operationally relevant system capabilities in the most effective and efficient manner. The team will apply best practices across the engineering continuum, with a focus on improved software quality and process efficiency. This candidate must have an active Secret – Current security clearance. Position is an onsite role in Ricardson, TX. Travel to customer CONUS & OCONUS sites as required, but no more than 25%. What You Will Do • Work with Solution Architects to identify the hardware, software, network, and staffing needed to stand up prototype assemblies. • Develop prototype assemblies that reduce architectural risk for new features and support smooth handover of designs to Integration teams. • Create and manage schedules for prototype development activities and material acquisition. • Track material orders, receipts, and readiness for assembly. • Lead the production, movement, installation, configuration, and operational checkout of prototype assemblies in lab environments. • Maintain prototype assemblies across their full lifecycle, including setup, updates, and sustainment. Qualifications You Must Have • Senior‑level technical consulting experience with direct engagement across internal and external stakeholders • Extensive experience developing detailed full‑stack platform solutions including trade studies, cost, schedule, and technical considerations • Experience collaborating across multiple disciplines and IPTs to identify and secure materials for machine setup in a lab environment • Experience scheduling and securing fabrication and installation activities for machine setups in a lab environment • Experience developing machine network configurations, implementing them, and performing operational checkout of setups and configurations • Experience defining hardware and software requirements to support multiple prototypes or machine setups in a lab environment • Experience developing and identifying staffing requirements needed to support setup and testing of multiple prototypes • Experience developing and maintaining prototype or machine setup environments across the product life cycle • Ability to provide 75% or more on‑site support at RTX labs located in CityLine, TX • People‑leadership experience including mentoring, coaching, and serving as a liaison across multiple high‑performing engineering teams • Active and transferable DOD Secret - Current clearance is required prior to start date • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree.
