The Opportunity This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering critical Windows infrastructure projects that support the stability, security, and modernisation of enterprise technology environments. As a Systems Engineer – Windows, you will work across migrations, upgrades, cloud adoption initiatives, and infrastructure transformation programs, helping to design and implement reliable solutions that enable business outcomes. • Design, build, configure, test and deploy Windows Server infrastructure solutions across on-premises, hybrid and cloud environments, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, security requirements and operational standards. • Lead and support infrastructure projects including Windows Server upgrades, platform modernisation, Active Directory enhancements, application migrations, and data centre transformation initiatives. • Collaborate with project managers, architects, cybersecurity specialists, vendors and operational support teams to deliver secure, supportable and well-documented solutions that are ready for transition into production. • Drive continuous improvement through automation, scripting and modern infrastructure practices, helping to improve operational efficiency, reduce risk and enhance the reliability of enterprise services. About You We're looking for a technically capable infrastructure professional who enjoys solving complex challenges, delivering quality outcomes and working collaboratively across project and operational teams. You bring a practical approach to engineering, a focus on security and reliability, and the ability to translate technical requirements into effective solutions. Essential: • Experience as a Windows Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or similar role supporting enterprise-scale environments. • Experience designing, implementing and supporting Microsoft Windows Server platforms including Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 and newer releases. • Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Certificate Services, file services and related Microsoft infrastructure technologies. • Experience delivering Windows infrastructure migrations, upgrades, deployments and transformation initiatives. • Capability in PowerShell scripting and automation to support repeatable deployments and operational efficiency. • Experience implementing security hardening, patch management, vulnerability remediation and secure access controls within Windows environments. • Understanding of virtualisation technologies such as VMware and/or Microsoft Hyper-V. • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts, enterprise infrastructure services, backup and recovery technologies, and performance troubleshooting. • Experience producing technical documentation including solution designs, implementation plans, test plans, runbooks and operational handover documentation. • Ability to manage competing priorities, identify technical risks and work effectively with a broad range of technical and business stakeholders. Advantageous: • Experience supporting Windows workloads across cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments. • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including Azure Virtual Machines, networking, storage and identity services. • Understanding of Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity solutions. • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, configuration management or automation platforms such as Terraform, Ansible, Azure Automation or Bicep. • Relevant Microsoft certifications such as Windows Server, Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect or equivalent infrastructure certifications. • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
