Job description
turbopuffer is looking for a Controller who wants to evolve the finance function at a fast growing startup. This year we're migrating our ERP to an AI-native platform, rebuilding our billing stack, and putting agents to work across all of our projects. You'll be working directly with our CFO. what you'll do: - own month end close and reporting including variance analysis & statement prep - lead our ERP migration to an AI native platform; full oversight over system design & config - expand the AI orchestration layer for finance → repeatable work goes to agents - become our default billing systems lead, you'll oversee billing ops day to day - oversee multi-country payroll and benefits, commissions and equity management - coordinate w/ external providers to ensure global corporate and sales tax compliance - maintain an audit ready posture while ensuring appropriate controls & memos are in place - coordinate agents to run but ultimately own transactional accounting - collaborate on financial planning and maintain rolling forecasts - roll up your sleeves and dive in to various ad hoc projects…no shortage of those must have: - CPA w/ deep US GAAP accounting experience, ideally forged in an audited environment - progressive experience at previous high-growth tech startups - ability to rapidly context shift and rebalance priorities based on business needs - thrives on delivering consistent results in extremely fast paced environments - proven track record of deploying & configuring AI agents to automate complex tasks nice to have: - deep understanding of cloud architecture & associated billing + margin analysis - proficient in multi-entity rollups, international expansion - sql, python or general coding experience tpuf is hardcore & whimsical. we value: - overstep > understep - show > tell - complexity is earned - showing up as part of our customer’s team - making stuff easy to react to
