Cavendish Farms is seeking a Health, Safety and Environment Specialist to support and strengthen safety performance at our processing facilities. This role plays a key part in developing standardized health and safety programs, designing and delivering effective training, and ensuring consistency across multiple sites. The Specialist will act as a subject matter expert (SME), working closely with site leadership to drive compliance, reduce risk, and build a strong, proactive safety culture. Work Location: Candidates may be based in Lethbridge, AB; Jamestown, ND; Wheatley, ON; or New Annan, PE. Salary Range: $61,500 - $82,000 Application Deadline: September 11th, 2026 at 11:55 PM (AST) Working Conditions Combination of office and plant environmentExposure to manufacturing conditionsUp to 25% travel required to support training and safety initiative across different locations Responsibilities: Build, standardize, and implement health and safety programs across all processing sites, ensuring consistent application of company policies and proceduresAnalyze KPIs, safety metrics, and trends (including incidents and hazard identifications) to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement initiativesPerform audits and champion key system elements (KES audits), ensuring data integrity and program compliance across sitesIdentify and reduce data gaps by reviewing safety systems, reports, and metrics, ensuring accurate and consistent reportingReview incident investigations and corrective actions to identify root causes, trends, and opportunities to strengthen safety programsAct as a subject matter expert (SME) in health and safety, coaching and mentoring site teams to build capability and reinforce standardsProvide field support and guidance to ensure sites are aligned with corporate expectations and following standardized safety practices Qualifications: Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, training, or a related field (preferred) 5–10 years of experience in health and safety with strong preference to those with manufacturing, food processing, or agriculture backgroundProfessional certification such as NCSO, CRST or CRSPStrong knowledge of occupational health & safety legislation and compliance requirementsAbility to analyze safety data and translate insights into practical training solutionsProven communication, coaching, and collaboration skillsAbility and willingness to travel within Canada and the United States; valid driver's license required #LI-LP1
