Job description

We’re building a world of health around every individual — shaping a more connected, convenient and compassionate health experience. At CVS Health®, you’ll be surrounded by passionate colleagues who care deeply, innovate with purpose, hold ourselves accountable and prioritize safety and quality in everything we do. Join us and be part of something bigger – helping to simplify health care one person, one family and one community at a time. Job Purpose and Summary The POS Experience Strategy, Roadmap & Prioritization Manager owns how demand for point-of-sale (POS) change is captured, evaluated, and sequenced across every checkout experience in our retail stores. This leader operates the centralized intake for all POS project requests spanning staffed front store and pharmacy lanes, self-checkout, pharmacy check-in, and drive thru, and turns a high volume of competing ideas, defects, compliance mandates, and enhancement requests into a single, transparent, prioritized roadmap. Equally a strategist and an operator, this manager defines the criteria and cadence by which POS investments are ranked so that senior leadership aligns to prioritizing the work with the greatest customer value, financial return, risk reduction, or operational need is brought to market on the right timeline. Data insights and disciplined decision support are the engine of this role. The Manager works hand in hand with Digital, Data, Analytics & Technology (DDAT) partners to review every intake request for feasibility, effort, dependency, and technical fit, and translates that analysis into clear, defensible prioritization recommendations. Using transaction performance, defect and incident trends, store and field feedback, and level of effort vs. impact scoring, this leader prepares the executive materials that drive alignment on what gets built, what waits, and why, ensuring leadership can make fast, informed trade-off decisions with full visibility to cost, benefit, and risk. This role serves as a critical thought partner to Merchandising, Pharmacy Growth, Operations, DDAT, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Asset Protection, Field Operations, and vendor partners to align the POS roadmap, surface risk and dependency early, and lead an intake-to-launch operating model that scales. The Manager also leads the development of field and store-facing communications for POS rollouts and new features, ensuring stores understand what is changing, why, and what is expected of them. Success requires the blend of strategic thinking and operational discipline; the ability to see the outcome, build the plan, rally cross-functional partners, and deliver clear, consistent communication across the enterprise. This leader brings our values to life every day: caring, innovating with purpose, being accountable, and prioritizing safety and quality. In this role, you’ll: • Own the centralized intake of all POS project requests across staffed front store and pharmacy lanes, self-checkout, pharmacy check-in, and drive thru, establishing a single front door and consistent request standards. • Partner with DDAT to review every request for feasibility, effort, dependencies, and technical fit, and translate that review into a clear, defensible prioritization view. • Build and maintain a transparent, criteria-based POS roadmap that sequences work by customer value, financial return, risk reduction, and operational need. • Prepare executive leadership materials that drive review, alignment, and prioritization decisions, enabling the highest-value and highest-need projects to reach market on the right timeline. • Lead the development of field and store-facing communications for POS rollouts and new features, ensuring clarity on what is changing, why, and what stores must do. • Facilitate recurring prioritization and roadmap governance forums with business, DDAT, and executive stakeholders to keep sequencing current as needs shift. • Steward the intake and prioritization framework, including criteria, request templates, and service-level expectations for how requests move from submission to decision. • Build strong partnerships across Store Operations, Pharmacy Growth, Merchandising, DDAT, Finance, Compliance, Field Operations, and vendor teams to enable aligned, efficient delivery of the POS roadmap. Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities: Centralized Intake & Request Management (30%) • Operate the centralized intake for all POS project requests across staffed FS and RX lanes, self-checkout, pharmacy check-in, and drive thru, serving as the single point of entry for defects, enhancements, compliance mandates, and new initiatives • Maintain standard request templates, submission requirements, and intake service levels so requests arrive complete and are triaged consistently • Log, categorize, and track every request in a single source of truth, maintaining visibility to status, owner, and disposition from submission through decision • Screen and clarify incoming requests with requestors to capture business problem, expected value, urgency, and success measures before review • Provide requestors and stakeholders with clear, timely updates on where their request stands and the rationale for prioritization decisions DDAT Partnership & Request Evaluation (25%) • Partner with DDAT resources to review all POS project requests for technical feasibility, level of effort, dependencies, and architectural fit • Translate DDAT input and business context into value-versus-effort and risk assessments that support objective ranking of competing requests • Identify overlaps, duplicate requests, and shared dependencies across POS surfaces so related work can be bundled or sequenced efficiently • Surface risk, compliance, and technical constraints early so trade-offs are understood before commitments are made • Leverage data, defect and incident trends, and field feedback to strengthen the business case and evidence behind each prioritization recommendation Prioritization Fr
