Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Software Test Engineer to join our Digital Technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of web and mobile applications through a combination of manual and automated testing.You will work closely with developers, product owners, business analysts, and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to validate requirements, develop test strategies, build automation solutions, and continuously improve quality practices throughout the software development lifecycle.If you are passionate about software quality, automation, continuous improvement, and solving complex challenges, this role will provide an excellent opportunity to grow your career. Position: Software Test Engineer (Manual & Automation) Experience: 1-3 Years Location: Bangalore/Hyderabad (Hybrid) What You Will Do Analyze business, functional, and technical requirements. Develop and maintain test plans, test strategies, test cases, and test data. Execute functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, sanity, UAT, and exploratory testing. Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts. Build and enhance automation frameworks for web applications. Perform UI, API, and end-to-end testing. Execute backend validation using SQL queries. Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using defect management tools. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners throughout the software development lifecycle. Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Support release validation, production deployments, and post-release testing activities. Prepare test execution reports and quality metrics for stakeholders. Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, testing frameworks, and quality standards. Qualifications You Must Have Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and defect management processes. Understanding of manual testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, system, UAT, and exploratory testing. Experience creating test plans, test cases, and test scenarios. Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps. Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress. Programming knowledge in Java, Python, or JavaScript. Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or Swagger. Strong SQL knowledge for database validation. Understanding of JSON and XML. Knowledge of version control tools such as Git. Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions. Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Self-motivated with a continuous learning mindset. Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. Qualifications We Prefer Experience in web and mobile application testing (iOS/Android). Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. Knowledge of performance testing using JMeter. Experience testing microservices-based applications. Familiarity with Docker and containerized environments. Understanding of security testing and accessibility testing. ISTQB certification. Exposure to enterprise application testing environments. Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. Educational Qualification Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience. Engineering candidates should preferably have a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM). Typically requires less than 2 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent experience, unless prohibited by local laws or regulations.
