Be the catalyst for expansion as you pioneer product growth and dive deep into market trends, shape offerings, and ensure compliance. As an Associate in Payments Industry Advocacy, you will help shape our point of view and the firmwide advocacy strategy for Payments. You work across the organization, build critical relationships, and prepare the products to go to market. You will also support the development and execution of advocacy strategies to engage with policymakers and regulators, contributing JPMorgan Payments’ expertise to evolving industry and regulatory frameworks. JPMorgan Payments actively participates in and leads a significant change agenda through our Payments Industry Advocacy team. The objective of the team is to influence and advise Payments product owners and Firmwide stakeholders on emerging global payments industry and public policy trends, as well as related and product opportunities. Job responsibilitiesResearches and analyzes market trends, competitor pricing strategies, and client behavior to identify opportunities for product improvementsAssists in the development of collateral tailored to specific marketsUnderstands and follows the defined regulatory testing procedures to confirm our products meet regulatory requirements prior to releaseFollows and assists with the development of the product’s risk and compliance modelIdentifies inefficiencies in regulatory testing processesBuilds and maintains working relationships with stakeholders across distinct functions including Legal, Risk, Compliance Operations, and TechnologyDraft briefing memos and strategic presentations to effectively convey JPM Payments insights and point of view for internal and external audiences Partner with internal stakeholders and clients to understand challenges, regulatory priorities, and operational realities; translate insights into advocacy positions, messaging, and engagement strategies Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills2+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in Government Relations and Policy, Product, Technology, or Project ManagementEmerging knowledge of risk management and controls, regional and local nuances, and governance requirementsProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointStrong understanding of the payments landscape, business models, and regulatory environmentExcellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze opportunities and challenges, recommend solutions, and communicate effectively (both verbal and written)Working knowledge of public policy and regulatory change, including regional and local nuancesExperience in developing advocacy positions, messaging, and engagement strategies Ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional stakeholdersAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing prioritiesPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsExperience in consulting and strategy, with ability to contribute to successful strategy recommendations for financial services companiesExperience engaging with policymakers, industry associations, standards bodies, and public consultations
