Job description
Architect the long-term engineering direction for Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems, resolving platform fragmentation and centralizing the authorization evaluation model for core platforms. Serve as the deep-domain technical authority on hyper-reliable infrastructure, leading complex, multi-year engineering programs to ensure fast, scalable, and always-correct IAM enforcement. Advise the next-generation evolution of IAM capabilities by identifying, prototyping, and integrating novel AI approaches into reliable production systems. Build and influence strategic collaborations with executive Google Cloud Platform (GCP) leadership (Product Managers, Engineering Leads, Technical Program Mangers) to define and drive the overarching technical goal for the IAM space. Provide technical oversight and thought leadership while proactively fostering a collaborative culture focused on mentoring and developing engineering talent. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in software development. 7 years of experience building software for data privacy or security (e.g., identity and access management). 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction. 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
