Location: Boston, MA (Logan International Airport) Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 Shift: 2nd (1:30PM - 12:00PM), Friday-Monday (4 days a week) The role of the Control Room Operator is to constantly monitor the status of the baggage handling system (BHS) and alert BHS Assistants, Technicians, and JLL leadership when an impact to operations occurs. The BHS Control Room Operator shall have a good understanding of the physical system layout and associated control functionality to efficiently manage the baggage flow during the daily operation through the BHS and direct the response staff to incidents. The BHS Control Room Operator may also support JLL leadership in preparing reports and trending analyses. Key Responsibilities Report on Baggage Handling System (BHS) alarms/events to inspect, clear blockages/jams, and repair failed equipment as needed Coordinate personnel and resources to ensure minimum service requirements are maintained Coordinate with stakeholders and BHS-related inquiries by person/telephone and maintain a high level of customer service Control Room Operator(s) shall always be attentive of the condition of the entire BHS to respond immediately to events and/or possible blockages/events and/or unusual behavior, including but not limited to jams, e-stops, faults, security, equipment malfunction, incorrect operation, incorrect routing of bags and power outages. Be well versed in system continency plans to limit system outages/delays and ensure system flow during critical repairs throughout operational hours Responsible for initiating communication protocols to stakeholders and JLL leadership when emergencies and impact to normal BHS operations occur Control Room Operator(s) shall be proficient and trained on the proper use of all equipment and interfaces within the BHS control room, including but not limited to HMI controls, automatic tag readers, and running reports, searching bags and other issues as they arise Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed. Dispatches technicians to troubleshoot repairs and respond to emergencies as needed Assist in maintaining system flow by performing BHS Assistant duties when needed Maintains a daily control room/operating log of activities including logging employee arrivals and departures. Responsible for completing daily shift and end of day reports and sending reports to management and client. Assist in maintaining bag room cleanliness Escalating problems or issues to Customer and Manager in a timely manner Be able to perform daily line walks and inspections when needed Be able to assist mechanics during system breakdowns when needed Perform monthly preventative maintenance for all bag room ATR Scanners and close out all work orders by assigned due date Must complete all required safety trainings as scheduled Attend work and safety meetings as required All other duties and tasks assigned. Minimum Qualifications Ability to lift up to 60lbs Familiarity with safety, security, and regulatory requirements related to baggage handling system operations Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by operational need Experience in Microsoft Office applications Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Estimated compensation for this position: 57,800.00 – 58,844.00 USD per year This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
