WHAT DOES A SENIOR MEDICAL EDITOR DO? The Senior Medical Editor is responsible for a range of Editorial services, including medical editing, copyediting, proofreading and fact checking of digital and print pharmaceutical advertising materials, internal and external presentations and corporate communications. The Senior Medical Editor upholds the outlook, needs and requirements of the Editorial competency to teammates in other departments to maintain quality, and has ownership of all projects for assigned clients. Senior Medical Editors lead specified complex brands or clients along with associated launches and support the onboarding of new hires. We are seeking a sharp, enthusiastic, and well-organized professional to join our dynamic team. Edit for language clarity and consistency, brand and messaging accuracy, appropriate tone, overall cohesiveness, flow, organization, client and AMA style, grammar, spelling, typographical errors and formatting; support reviews with AI tools • Participate in the content review process throughout all stages of a project, including fact checking with accurate referencing • Manage and resource numerous brand tasks with competing deadlines, coordinating coverage with other Editorial team members. Interface with Creative, Account, Project Management and other teammates to assist in project prioritization and increase ease of project completion while maintaining quality • Lead assigned launches; support coverage of agency team and launch tasks • Represent the Editorial department at internal kickoff and status meetings • Create and maintain style guides for clients and brands • Onboard and mentor junior team members as needed • Support department initiatives around best practices and process to uphold quality and efficiency standards • Alert Editorial management to editorial process and/or quality concerns, and work closely with them and other teammates to resolve issues as they arise WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education plus professional experience required 5+ years of editing experience within a healthcare or pharmaceutical advertising agency environment Thorough knowledge of current AMA style; experience with medical/regulatory/legal reviews and familiarity with FDA requirements for drug promotion Demonstrated comfort and confidence with medical/pharma and industry terminology Extremely detail oriented, thorough and accurate Proven experience in managing rapidly shifting priorities and deadlines in high-pressure situations Ability to take ownership, be accountable and work independently Digitally savvy with excellent verbal, written, organizational, time-management and problemsolving skills Experienced in Adobe Acrobat Professional, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint
