Maintenance Technician

Job description

Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician will perform proper diagnosis of any malfunctioning machinery, general repairs, install new equipment and systems, and perform a preventive maintenance program on all assigned machinery as directed by the supervisor. Duties & Responsibilities: Follow good housekeeping practices by keeping maintenance and tool storage area neat and clean as well as timely cleanup of work area after each job is completed Install new equipment or rearrange existing equipment Is available on call for emergency repairs as needed to keep plant in good running order Maintain preventative maintenance records and perform preventative maintenance on plant and road equipment Other duties as assigned The job description is not designed to capture all the employee’s responsibilities but is intended to capture essential functions of the role. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Computer proficient Shows Initiative Problem-solving skills Reliable and thorough Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability and willingness to perform physical duties such as lifting, climbing, working at elevated heights, and manual dexterity Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments Education & Experience: Required High School Diploma, G.E.D., Home School Certification, or international equivalent to High School Diploma Minimum of 1 year of PVC plumbing OR mechanical repair and maintenance work experience or training Electrical panelboard experience Motor Controls experience Positive displacement pump repair experience Preferred Trade school experience for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or mechanical repair is highly desired At least 1 year of electrical installation, repair, and maintenance work experience, including electronic troubleshooting, PLC programming, and 480V 3 Phase electrical repair and maintenance experience Electrical Certification Working Conditions: Travel for field repair and installation if needed Physical duties include lifting, climbing, working at elevated heights, and manual dexterity Work environments may include, but are not limited to, industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
