As a Manufacturing Engineer, you are responsible for developing and maintaining methods, operating sequences, and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. You'll work closely with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and new products, and you'll use engineering principles to estimate and reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements. Your expertise in lean principles, automation, and continuous improvement will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and achieving higher levels of productivity and cost-effectiveness. You'll develop and use test procedures, evaluate test results, and assess work methods, procedures, and policies to identify root cause issues and solutions that ensure operational success. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, validate, and maintain manufacturing methods, process flows, assembly procedures, and operation sequences for the fabrication of parts, modules, subassemblies, and final systems. Support the transition of new products from Engineering to Manufacturing by partnering with Design Engineering, NPI, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure manufacturability, scalability, quality, and cost objectives are achieved. Drive engineering change implementation by reviewing, launching, approving, and executing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), process changes, work instruction updates, and configuration management activities. Apply Design for Excellence (DFx) methodologies, including Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Cost (DFC), to improve productivity, quality, and overall manufacturing efficiency. Analyze manufacturing processes and workflows to identify opportunities for cycle time reduction, waste elimination, ergonomics improvements, and capacity enhancements using Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles. Develop manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, control plans, process maps, visual aids, and training materials. Collaborate with Test Engineering to develop and optimize test procedures, acceptance criteria, and test fixtures used during system integration and validation. Collect, analyze, and interpret manufacturing, quality, and test data to identify trends, drive root cause investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Lead and participate in structured problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, Pareto Analysis, and Failure Analysis techniques. Support Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), risk assessments, process validation activities, and readiness reviews for New Product Introduction programs. Evaluate supplier, component, and manufacturing process performance to improve reliability, yield, and overall product quality. Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing issues related to assembly, integration, testing, and field-returned equipment. Estimate manufacturing costs, establish labor standards, evaluate tooling requirements, and recommend process improvements that increase productivity while reducing cost. Ensure manufacturing processes comply with Applied Materials quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines. Support factory performance objectives related to quality, delivery, cost, safety, and customer satisfaction. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 0-2 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, production, process engineering, industrial engineering, or New Product Introduction environments. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering documentation, mechanical assemblies, and production operations. Experience analyzing data and using problem-solving methodologies to investigate manufacturing or quality-related issues. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Internship, co-op, or industry experience in semiconductor equipment, advanced manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, automotive, medical device, or high-tech manufacturing environments. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement methodologies. Experience interpreting mechanical drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), specifications, and e
