The Role Mach Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, Energetics to support the development, industrialization, and launch of manufacturing systems for solid rocket motors (SRMs), pyrotechnics, and energetic products. Safety is the first priority in the design and operation of energetic manufacturing systems. You will work closely with EHS, quality, operations, equipment suppliers, and systems integrators to turn new energetic products into repeatable production processes. This is a hands-on engineering role. You will help design manufacturing processes, develop tooling and equipment, support factory and production-line layouts, execute equipment acceptance and commissioning, and solve problems directly on the production floor. The ideal candidate has strong engineering fundamentals, enjoys building physical systems, and wants to develop expertise at the intersection of manufacturing, automation, propulsion, and energetic materials. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Process Development • Support the development and industrialization of manufacturing processes for solid rocket motors, pyrotechnics, and related energetic products. • Translate engineering designs into practical manufacturing sequences, work instructions, tooling concepts, and equipment requirements. • Develop process flows, workstation concepts, factory layouts, cycle-time studies, and manufacturing documentation. • Design fixtures, tooling, material-handling devices, and other manufacturing aids using CAD. • Work directly with technicians and operators to build, test, and improve manufacturing processes. • Collect and analyze production data to identify opportunities to improve cycle time, yield, quality, ergonomics, and process capability. • Support Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) reviews with product engineering. Energetics Manufacturing • Support manufacturing processes associated with energetic products, including material preparation, mixing, casting/dispensing, curing, machining, assembly, inspection, testing, and material handling. • Help translate development processes into controlled, repeatable production processes. • Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, manufacturing specifications, and acceptance criteria. • Support process characterization, engineering builds, production trials, and qualification activities. • Partner with EHS and senior engineers to incorporate appropriate engineered controls into energetic manufacturing processes. • Identify opportunities to reduce manual handling, operator exposure, process variability, and manufacturing risk. Equipment & Tooling • Develop requirements and concepts for manufacturing equipment, fixtures, tooling, and workstations. • Create CAD models and engineering drawings for manufacturing tooling and equipment. • Work with equipment suppliers and systems integrators during equipment design, fabrication, installation, and startup. • Participate in equipment design reviews and provide feedback on manufacturability, maintainability, ergonomics, and production requirements. • Support the integration of automated equipment, robotics, machine vision, instrumentation, and data-acquisition systems. • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and process issues with support from the appropriate engineering teams. Factory & Line Development • Support factory layout development including equipment placement, material flow, personnel flow, utilities, storage, and production support areas. • Work with manufacturing, facilities, EHS, and external engineering partners to translate process requirements into facility requirements. • Support installation and integration of manufacturing equipment within new and existing production facilities. • Help coordinate interfaces between manufacturing equipment, facility utilities, automation systems, and production operations. • Maintain equipment layouts, process flows, equipment lists, and other manufacturing engineering documentation as designs evolve. Commissioning & Production Launch • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), equipment commissioning, and production-readiness activities. • Develop test plans, commissioning checklists, acceptance criteria, and equipment punch lists. • Execute equipment trials and collect data to verify equipment and process performance. • Troubleshoot equipment and manufacturing processes during startup and production ramp. • Support process capability studies and identify sources of variation, downtime, scrap, and yield loss. • Work directly on the production floor to resolve manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions. • Support the transition of new manufacturing equipment and processes into production operations. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline. • Strong understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering and manufacturing principles. • Experience using CAD software to design mechanical components, fixtures, or assemblies through coursework, internships, research, Formula SAE, robotics, personal projects, or professional experience. • Ability
