What You’ll Do: As a Warehouse Lead person - Shipping, Package, Sort, Bag you’ll be part of our Decorah Operations team located in Decorah, IA you’ll get to: Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in the efficient operation of the day-to-day functions of the warehouse. Direct, train and assist warehouse employees ensuring all shipments to customers are made on time. Serve as primary customer contact at warehouse facility to meet the customer’s needs. Job Knowledge: 1. Basic personal computer knowledge. 2. Thorough knowledge of the warehouse system. 3. Thorough knowledge of all customer driven specifications. 4. Thorough parts identification knowledge. 5. Thorough material handling equipment knowledge. 6. Procedure manual location and contents. 7. Knowledge of human relations and communications skills sufficient to assist in administration of company policies and procedures. Judgement: 1. Prioritize activities to maximize efficiency. 2. Recognize unsafe conditions or act and report to the supervisor immediately. 3. Ability to recognize problems requiring assistance. 4. Ability to recognize situations requiring extra assistance. 5. Recognize acceptable supply inventory level. Supervisory Assistance: Ensures compliance with company safety and housekeeping requirements. Communicates and reviews performance requirements with employees. Assists Warehouse supervisor in the development of employees. Provides required training to ensure appropriate skill levels of warehouse employees. Monitor productivity and quality of work performed by warehouse employees. Assist supervisor in maintaining department budget and future planning needs. Provide coaching of employees and monitors the performance of their responsibilities Assist supervisors with department work schedules and assign tasks to employees based upon customer needs. Assist supervisor with analyzing and documenting new employee training checklists ensuring that employees meet basic training requirements. Assist supervisor in assessing employee performance by providing appropriate feedback and by participating in disciplinary matters. Facilitate effective communication on all shifts and assure information flow exists. Attendance: 1. Follow the Company’s attendance policy. 2. Start work when the shift begins. 3. Follow Company’s overtime policy. Safety/Housekeeping: 1. Follow all company safety procedures and report any potential safety issues to the Supervisor. 2. Keep the work area neat and orderly and supports 5S activities. Productivity: 1. Report maintenance problems to Supervisor. 2. Investigate maintenance problems. 3. Procure estimates for the repair. 4. Schedule maintenance with Supervisor’s permission. 5. Complete paperwork in a timely manner. 6. Insure employees in department are working productively throughout shift. 7. Coordinate shipments with freight vendors. 8. Act as liaison between warehouse and customer service area. 9. Actively promotes Company policies and procedures. Quality: 1. Train warehouse personnel ensuring all employees fully understand job duties and responsibilities. 2. Ensure that shipping paperwork is properly and accurately completed by Shipping Clerks. 3. Make certain the Procedure’s Manual is being followed. 4. Report quality concerns promptly to necessary personnel. 5. Make sure special customer-driven expectations are met. 6. Accuracy of order entry and billing. Teamwork: 1. Communicate and cooperates with Supervisor and co-workers. 2. Accept all job assignments and assist co-workers as needed. 3. Attend team meetings and follow team guidelines. 4. Work closely with Shipping personnel to meet company service level. 5. Assist in the training of new employees. Perform duties as requested by the Supervisor.
