Senior Software Engineer, Pixel Camera App, Performance

Job description

Lead (often cross-team) initiatives to define, measure, optimize, and monitor key performance indicators in Pixel camera's android application code. Collaborate with camera feature and on-device ML teams to ensure features are optimized for speed, memory, and reliability. Develop and utilize telemetry data infrastructure to offer leadership insights crucial for verifiable high performance, reliability, and system health. Provide in-depth insights from advanced profiling tools to prioritize and validate improvements. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java). 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. 3 years of experience with Android application development. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field. 3 years of experience shipping complex embedded software products. Experience with performance and memory optimization. Experience with TPU, GPU, and on-device ML models. Experience with SQL and data pipelines. Experience developing Linux systems, Android systems, or embedded systems.
