Intuitive designs and manufactures highly complex mechanical systems for use in surgery. The Machine Shop is responsible for providing support to development, engineering and manufacturing. This support includes both internal fabrication and modification of mechanical components. We are a small team seeking a skilled machinist who has good communication and organizational skills. The successful candidate will be capable of high quality work on a variety of machine shop equipment and must be a team player with a “can do” attitude. Required Education, Skills & Experience • Minimum of 4 - 6 years of related experience and a High school diploma/Secondary education or equivalent; vocational training and/or on-the-job training • Comfortable working with all general shop equipment (i.e. grinders, saws, drills etc.) • Safety conscious and capable of inspecting own work • Plan jobs/set-ups, to a high degree of accuracy • Perform accurate inspections and verification • Ability to interpret drawings, charts, sketches, specifications, and other documentation for parts to be machined • Strong mechanical and technical abilities/experience • Knowledge of the machining properties of various materials • Ability to work as a team member and supervise others as needed Preferred Skills & Experience • Ability to program setup/operate ProtoTRAK mill and lathe • Experience with CNC and manual mill and lathe • Demonstrated ability to assist in job planning, scheduling and training of other team members • Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings and CAD files • Experience operating band saws and other shop equipment • Capable of assisting in fabricating prototype components and assemblies in support of product development with other team members • Modify production materials as required per rework instructions • Mastercam programming experience It started with a simple idea: what if surgery could be less invasive and recovery less painful?
