Job Summary Work as an Industrial Painter prepping and coating carbon steel frames and brackets, and using a blast cabinet to blast small stainless steel parts. Also work doing mechanical tasks when there is no demand for painting. Key Characteristics: Ability to work while wearing a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR). Proficient at painting using an HLVP painting system. Is familiar with cleaning and repairing paint equipment (pressure pot and HVLP gun). Willing to work outside of the paint area. Duties & Responsibilities: Follows safe work practices and all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures. Adheres to production work instructions. Assists with other departments as needed. Works with and coordinates activities with other job classifications. Reads and understands shop orders and bill of materials. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated ability and knowledge in industrial coatings and metal preparation.. Work as a member of a team and independently.. Willingness to cross train on other assembly and/or fabrication disciplines. Basic mathematics skills. Education & Experience Required: High School Diploma/GED Preferred: Trade school degree in related trade. Industrial coating experience in a factory or industrial setting. Working Conditions: Must be able to perform work with appropriate PPE for work (Half mask respirator, powered air purifying respirator, safety toed shoes, safety glasses, bump cap/hard hat, etc.) The majority of the day will be spent standing with some bending and fine motor work appropriate for work in a fabrication shop. Ability to operate power tools such as drills, grinders, and saws. Some sitting and computer work is required. Some unassisted lifting up to 50 lbs. is required – nearly all heavy parts movement assisted with cranes/hoists and pallet jacks.
