Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is currently seeking a Principal Systems Engineer (Level 3) to support our Combat Electromagnetic Environment Simulation (CEESIM) program(s). This position is based in Buffalo, NY, and offers the opportunity to join a qualified, diverse team. RELOCATION ASSISTANCE: Relocation assistance is not available CLEARANCE TYPE: Must have an ACTIVE Secret Clearance in order to be considered TRAVEL: Yes, 15% of the Time The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in Buffalo, NY. Qualified candidates will have experience across the systems engineering lifecycle for Electronic Warfare (EW) simulators, including requirements development and verification, sell-off, and production. Candidates will have technical expertise in one or more Functional Engineering areas for simulation systems (e.g., RF, Digital, SW, Systems Engineering, Test & Integration). This role will work within the program’s Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) to support requirements management, Systems Design, Systems Planning, production support, and requirement sell-off activities. In this role, the selected candidate will (but not be limited to): · Support system requirements development, management, analysis, and traceability, to translate customer requirements and CONOPS into systems requirements, and further allocate to lower-level requirements. · Provide systems engineering support as part of a trouble shooting team with systems matter expertise on other areas, e.g., RF, software, digital, mechanical, and manufacturing) · Support efforts for Failure Trend Analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations on RF / electronics sensor systems with exposure to hardware, software, and various applications used on the projects · Perform data mining for both failure database (TipQA or equivalent) and Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) data variability analysis. · Perform functional analysis and systems trade studies for technical solutions with respect to concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance. · Assist with the generation and revision of well-defined and executable system and subsystem requirements documents, interface documents, and test and verification documents. · Support system/subsystems integration, test, and requirements verification activities. · Support systems engineering metrics and technical performance measurement tracking. · Support the preparation of system engineering materials during System Requirements Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, System Verification Review, Test Readiness Review, and other program reviews as needed. · Generate and present data analysis results to support internal and external meetings · Interface with inter-organizational management and external Customer to communicate technical briefing and program status. · Support Program Management activities to ensure cost and schedule objectives are met; support program status efforts including Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tracking and Control Account Management (CAM) activities. · Partner with Global Supply Chain to manage the technical, schedule, cost, and quality of the simulator components from our subcontractors. Basic Qualifications for a Systems Engineer level (T03): Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience with any exposure to requirements development and requirements verification activities; will consider Master of Science in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of three (3) years of engineering experience with any exposure to requirements development, requirements verification, and engineering production activities. Must have proven experience in communicating with peers in a detailed, and process-oriented fashion. Must have demonstrated experience in providing solutions to a variety of technical problems under general supervision. Experience with requirements decomposition and requirements management Experience working with cross-functional integrated product teams Exposure to Systems Engineering lifecycle process for system development Experience with engineering requirements management tools, such as DOORS. Experience in configuration management and product lifecycle management tool(s). Experience in root cause correction, action process and execution. Experience in technical documentation. Understanding with Electronic Warfare simulation of threat radar systems. Knowledge of radar signal characteristics.
