This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. As part of a small team, you will work on New Glenn at the system level for the New Glenn Program. As part of the New Glenn SEIT system safety, reliability and risk team, you will work to develop processes and products for the design and evaluation of the New Glenn orbital launch vehicle system and facilities. You must have a passion for mission assurance, a commitment to the fundamentals of system safety, and a strong capacity to work collaboratively on complex and interesting new problems. You will be part of the SEIT system engineering team and will work across the New Glenn subsystems to support integrated solutions. You will utilize system engineering practices across disciplines predicated to a high degree on your technical skills, ensure consistent system engineering implementations across the New Glenn elements and subsystems, and serve in a system integration capacity working with multi-discipline teams to arrive at technical system solutions. Additionally, this role requires understanding and supporting requirements analysis and traceability, functional analysis, systems analysis, safety analysis, technical performance monitoring, developing strategies and approaches for specialty engineering (operability, reliability, maintainability, supportability) and system product life cycle processes. Must be on-site full-time in WA, FL, or CO offices. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Create, evaluate, and perform reviews of system safety and reliability analyses including Hazard Assessments, FMECAs/HAZOPs, Fault Trees, Common Cause Assessments, Reliability Predictions, Reliability Block Diagrams, Human Error Assessments, and Hazard SheetsEvaluate safety products and requirements for compliance with our system safety processes and products against internal and external standards including Range Safety, NASA, FAA, MIL-STD-882, or ARP-4761Implement and maintain system safety processes and identify continuous improvement opportunitiesTrain and mentor engineers on identifying and analyzing system safety risksWork with systems engineering and subsystem cognizant engineers to identify and verify compliance with system safety requirementsAssist in generating metrics and report on program system safety statusesFoster and maintain a healthy culture of system safety for New GlennMinimum Qualifications:Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or related field8+ years of professional experience within integrated systemsExperience with system engineering principlesExperience in at least one of the areas of analysis, design, or integrated testingEngineering experience in at least one of the following areas: fluids, thermal, propulsion, avionics, electrical hardware, telemetry/communications, structural, ground operations or flight/ground autonomyPossess strategic and proactive thinking as well as the ability to communicate effectively while working within set timelinesMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumPreferred Qualifications:Experience working within large development programsAbility to thrive in a highly dynamic and fast paced environmentSystem development/integration experience, preferably with aerospace hardwareKnowledge of current systems engineering/integration tools as well as corresponding methodologies3+ years of system safety/reliability experience performing FHAs, FMEA/FMECAs, FTAs, CCAs, Reliability Predictions, RBDsExperience performing compliance assessments and tailoring FAA/Range Safety launch system requirementsExperience with a variety of complex aerospace or launch vehicle systemsProfessional history of successful process ownership Base Pay Range for:CA applicants is $145,188.00 - $203,263.20 CO applicants is $133,500.00 - $186,898.95 WA applicants is $145,188.00 - $203,263.20Other site ranges may differ Culture Statement Don’t meet all desired requirements?
