What You’ll get to Do: In this role, you will serve dual functions: Hardware CAM for EGI‑M Mechanical Engineering Lead/Individual Contributor for avionics hardware across EGI‑M and other programs. CAM Responsibilities – EGI‑M Hardware Scope Serve as the Cost Account Manager (CAM) for the hardware work scope of the EGI‑M program, including chassis, printed circuit board hardware, digital circuits, and associated mechanical hardware. Plan, budget, and manage cost and schedule baseline for hardware engineering tasks, including estimating, tracking, and reporting performance. Establish and maintain the Earned Value Management (EVM) baseline for assigned control accounts; analyze variances and develop/execute recovery plans as needed. Define, collect, manage, and report program metrics (cost, schedule, technical progress) to the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, System Architect, and customer. Identify, track, and mitigate Risks and Opportunities for the EGI‑M hardware scope; ensure proactive management and timely escalation as needed. Coordinate staffing needs for hardware and mechanical engineering tasks, working with functional managers to align resources with program demands. Lead and facilitate regular team meetings for task coordination, status, and performance evaluation across hardware and mechanical engineering activities. Serve as a technical and cost/schedule interface with program management, engineering leadership, and the customer for the EGI‑M HW scope. Mechanical Engineering Responsibilities – EGI‑M and Other Programs Develop mechanical/aerospace products for aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles, missiles, ground vehicles, and associated ground and test equipment, with a primary focus on inertial navigation and measurement systems. Own or lead mechanical design of chassis, structural components, electronics enclosures, and support hardware for inertial navigation systems and other avionics products. Create and maintain 3D CAD models and Model-Based Definition (MBD) drawings using Solidworks, including application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) standards. Select materials and define manufacturing processes suitable for aerospace environments, including machining, casting, sheet metal, and additive manufacturing where applicable. Perform or guide preliminary sizing, stress, and dynamic analysis of aerospace structures and hardware (static, fatigue, vibration, and thermal considerations). Verify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data reduction, and performance analysis, coordinating with analysis and test engineers as needed. Support all phases of the product lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, drawings, fabrication, integration, environmental qualification, production transition, field support, and sustainment. Prepare and present technical reports, briefings, and design documentation (drawings, specifications, design review packages) for internal and external stakeholders. Attend and present at internal program meetings, customer technical exchanges, supplier reviews, and formal milestone reviews, providing updates on mechanical design status and hardware CAM performance. Lead small multi‑disciplinary design teams, mentoring junior engineers and driving technical decisions in alignment with program objectives and constraints. Ensure mechanical designs and processes support airworthiness certification, reliability, manufacturability, and maintainability requirements. This position can be filled at a Principal/ Senior Principal Hardware/Firmware CAM Basic Qualifications – Principal Hardware/Firmware CAM Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with 5 years of relevan
