Job description

The Patient Safety Technician is responsible for providing continuous observation and appropriate documentation of assigned patients who are identified as being at increased risk for injury, self-harm, or elopement. This role supports patient safety through vigilant monitoring, assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), and timely communication with the clinical care team.Principal Accountabilities: - Provide continuous, one-on-one observation for assigned patients in Sitter and Spotter assignments - Protect patients from self-harm, injury, or elopement by maintaining constant awareness and presence - Conduct continuous rounds and maintain visual contact with the patient as required - Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility - Assist with bathroom use, commode support, and incontinence care while preserving dignity and safety - Monitor and accurately document intake and output - Perform preventive skin care, oral/mouth care, and assist with feeding as needed - Change bed linens and maintain a clean, safe patient environment - Observe and promptly report changes in patient behavior, condition, or safety concerns to nursing staff - Accurately document patient activity per policy and regulatory requirements - Perform other related duties as assigned to support patient care and safety
