Maintenance Mechanic – JLL What this job involves: As a Maintenance Mechanic at JLL, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient operation of mechanical systems and equipment at our East Syracuse, NY facility. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining optimal building performance, supporting our client's operations, and ensuring a safe environment for all occupants. This hands-on position offers the opportunity to work with advanced mechanical systems, including high-pressure steam boilers and storm water operations, while being part of a professional team committed to operational excellence. What your day-to-day will look like: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems, including plumbing, mechanical, fire and life safety, security, and building automation systems Operate, maintain, and repair high-pressure steam boilers and auxiliary components, conducting chemical analyses and adjusting controls to ensure optimal performance Respond to facility emergencies, providing immediate troubleshooting and repairs to minimize downtime and maintain safety Perform plumbing maintenance and repairs on fixtures, drainage systems, and water lines throughout the facility Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, repair logs, and generate reports on equipment performance and energy consumption Coordinate with building occupants, management, and external vendors to address maintenance requests and specialized repair needs Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, OSHA standards, and environmental regulations while performing all maintenance activities Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related trades Strong knowledge of building systems, particularly plumbing and mechanical operations Demonstrated experience in maintenance and repair of steam and condensate distribution systems, including pipes, valves, and controls Knowledge of and hands-on experience with steam generation, distribution systems, boilers, furnaces, and auxiliary systems Proficiency with Lockout/Tagout processes and safety procedures Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Preferred Qualifications: Valid driver's license OSHA Safety Certificate Forklift operation certification Advanced experience and/or certifications with medium and high-pressure steam systems Qualifications and training as determined by Mechanical Supervisor for boiler and storm water operations Experience with building automation systems Additional trade certifications or technical training Location: East Syracuse, NY (Onsite) Work Shift: 1st shift - Flexible hours (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM) with overtime opportunities Salary/Comp: Starting: $37.80/hour After 4 months: $38.55/hour After 6 months: $39.34/hour This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Estimated compensation for this position: 78,624.00 – 78,624.00 USD per year This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
