Job description
Guide strategic hardware decisions through deep-dive analysis of full-system workloads and first-party software stacks. Shape software architecture to unlock the full potential and specialized capabilities of custom silicon. Partner with Google Research, Pixel, and platform software teams to engineer category-defining features and user experiences. Architect end-to-end solutions that optimize for power, performance, and area (PPA) targets. Manage complex system-level bottlenecks by advocating bold, creative architectural approaches. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 10 years of experience with Mobile/Embedded SoCs. Experience designing system architecture from a software perspective. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, with an emphasis on computer architecture. Expertise with Android architecture, Kernel, frameworks, services, etc. Comprehensive knowledge of interactions between software and different IP blocks, general and special purpose compute units. Understanding of computer architecture in embedded systems. Ability to traverse across the stack from Silicon to Apps.
