The Apple Services Engineering Server (ASE) Frameworks Team is one of the most exciting examples of Apple's long-held passion for combining art and technology. These are the people who power the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books. And they do it on a massive scale, meeting Apple's high expectations with high performance to deliver a huge variety of entertainment in over 35 languages to more than 150 countries. These engineers build secure, end-to-end solutions. They develop the custom software used to process all the creative work, the tools that providers use to deliver that media, all the server-side systems, and the APIs for many Apple services. Although services are a bigger part of Apple's business than ever before, these teams remain small, nimble, and multi-functional, offering greater exposure to the array of opportunities here Minimum Qualifications: Strong object-oriented programming experience (primarily Java) Expert knowledge of Java build and dependency management tools like Maven/ Gradle (Bazel a bonus), as well as build systems for other languages Excellent understanding of software development life cycle, version control, code reviews, testing, code quality tools Experienced in SQL, relational databases, and ORM tooling Hands on knowledge of scaling distributed services using modern cloud tech (Kubernetes, containers etc) Strong problem solving and excellent communication skills B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience Preferred Qualifications: Passionate about creating developer tools and services that improve the quality of life for other engineering teams Motivated by operational excellence, maintenance of distributed services, and data driven decision making Interest in Machine Learning and LLMs for automated code refactoring Experience with Bazel M.S. or PhD. in Computer Science or equivalent field
