What Pricing Strategy contributes to Cardinal Health Revenue Management is responsible for developing, communicating, and leading the execution of market strategy and profitability optimization through pricing and value-capture activities at both the strategic and tactical levels. The group uses modeling, analytics, and econometrics to create pricing strategies for our products and services. Pricing Strategy acts to set overarching deal and product pricing strategies, provides guidance on value to help inform the negotiation strategy, and creates standard offer designs and target profitability for each business unit or customer segment. Job Summary Cardinal Health is seeking a Manager of Acute and CHC Pricing Strategy to lead pricing strategy and key commercial excellence efforts across the Acute and CHC classes of trade, including SPD, PD, and IDS opportunities. This role will collaborate closely with business unit leaders and partner with key segment functions, including Marketing, Sales, Sourcing, FP&A, and Operations. The position reports directly to the Director of Acute and CHC Revenue Management. Responsibilities Pricing Guidelines Market opportunity: Develops a quantified view of market opportunity for products and services at the class-of-trade level using data from multiple sources. Strategic approach: Determines class-of-trade-specific pricing strategies, including customer segmentation, customer life-cycle pricing, adjustment and exception guardrails, and related approaches across products including brand, generic, SPD, full-line specialty, and non-Rx. SOURCE pricing advisory: Advises on standard class-of-trade-specific SOURCE pricing to ensure alignment with broader strategy. Standard offer design: Creates standard offer designs and target profitability expectations for each class of trade, with input from Deal Management. Standard offer oversight: Oversees the application of standard offer design by Deal Management. Commercial Team Advisory Deal advisory: Acts as a key advisor to Commercial teams on pricing decisions and provides input on strategically important deals, including RFP responses, quoting, and proposal design. Value communication: Provides guidance to Commercial teams on communicating the value of deals to customers by class of trade. Price performance monitoring: Recommends post-deal price changes based on pricing performance analytics conducted by Customer Analytics & Market Insights. Analytical guidance: Provides guidance to Customer Analytics & Market Insights on profitability goal setting, ongoing attainment tracking, ad hoc diagnostics, root-cause insights, and the identification of winning sales behaviors. Qualifications 7+ years of relevant experience, preferred, including demonstrated success leading within a matrixed organization, preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field required, preferred. Proven track record of achieving results and clearly communicating vision, strategy, and priorities. Experience partnering closely with business and sales leaders to develop profit-generation strategies and introduce new approaches into the marketplace. Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate across all levels and functions and influence senior leaders on key decisions. Excellent critical-thinking skills with the ability to balance strategic frameworks, tactical execution, and analytic rigor. Strong personal drive to excel and model high standards for teams across the organization. Operational discipline and rigor to drive smarter engagement and stronger connectivity across Revenue Management teams, key partners, and company leaders. Curiosity and initiative to identify opportunities that grow enterprise profitability. Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to bring professionals together to solve complex business problems.
