Requirements Role Responsibilities: · Analyze commodity volumes, production, prices, contract data, and flow dynamics · Prepare monthly reports detailing regional supply & demand dynamics · Create unique and insightful data visualizations for complex supply & demand systems · Communicate both technical and non-technical information to internal teams and external clients · Support senior analysts in product development and maintenance · Develop price hub forecasts and methodologies · Develop new products and tools for data analysis and manipulation Compensation: · Compensation is $20 per hour, with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week, with the potential to work up to 40 hours per week · This is an in-office internship position based in Greenwood Village, Colorado, reporting to the Energy Market Team Lead Minimum commitment of 3 months, with the possibility to extend based on performance Experiential Benefits: · Unique opportunity for rapid development in energy markets, working directly with senior analysts to build next-generation energy analytics products · Meaningful ownership of projects with real-world application; contributing directly to client-facing research and market insights · Exposure to live energy infrastructure data, modeling, and analytics used by institutional investors and industry participants · Hands-on learning and professional development in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with direct mentorship from experienced market professionals · Opportunity to build technical, analytical, and industry knowledge within the oil, gas, NGL, and financial sectors Minimum Qualifications: · Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics/Finance, Geology, Engineering, or a related discipline. · Demonstrated analytical ability through coursework, academic projects, internships, or research experience · Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail, with the ability to break down complex problems into tactical actions · Strong ownership mentality: able to work in ambiguous situations and propose solutions · Ability to learn quickly, prioritize, and adapt to new assignments in a fast-paced environment · Exposure to SQL or relational databases through coursework, projects, or prior experience · Exposure to Python or similar programming languages · Familiarity with the Microsoft office suite, including proficiency with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint · Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: · Progress toward advanced coursework (or a Master’s degree) in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics/Finance, Engineering, or a related field · Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets, automate repetitive workflows, and build clean, reliable systems · Experience presenting analytical findings clearly in academic, research, or professional settings · Experience or familiarity with natural gas markets, analytics, or trading · Strong working knowledge of Python and SQL, demonstrated through academic, research, or project-based experience · Familiarity with data analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy) and data visualization tools (e.g., Plotly, Tableau) · Strong proficiency in MS Excel (automation, VBA, Power Query) · Familiarity with FERC, DOE regulations · Experience with Machine Learning methodology · Experience in client-facing roles Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
