As a Ford intern, you'll gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers on real vehicle programs, contributing to the development and validation of next-generation electronic modules. You'll build technical skills in environmental testing, data analysis, and hardware/mechanical prototyping while working within a collaborative, dynamic team environment that values curiosity, ownership, and continuous learning.Ford is seeking a motivated Mechanical or Electrical Engineer Intern to join the Sunrise product development team. This intern will support design validation and lab test evaluation activities for electronic modules within the vehicle, including work with test systems, fixtures, components, and proof-of-concept testing. The ideal candidate is a rising Junior or Senior who can think independently, contribute meaningfully from day one, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.What you'll do...• Perform Environmental Validation testing and measurements on products under development.• Collaborate with Hardware Engineers, PCB Designers, and Mechanical Engineers to ensure testing is executed according to defined test plans, enabling modules to pass internal reliability testing.• Analyze reports and resulting test data using AI and other statistical software or scripting tools.• Work with the Mechanical team using prototypes of designs via 3D printing and/or other rapid prototyping methods to ensure proper environmental test methods and approaches.• Participate in daily lab activities and calibration cycles.• Work with various lab team members to help design, create, assemble, and service Ford custom cable harnesses and assemblies. You'll have...Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.• Experience working with embedded hardware and software designs or prototypes.• Statistical and AI software experience.• Completed coursework, labs, and/or projects involving basic electronic applications.
