Staff Software Engineer, Android Laptop and Tablet System Software

Job description

Create and execute plans to bring-up, debug and validate designs to achieve functional and performance goals. Learn Android sensor framework and adapt for Desktop form factors. Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency). Work with cross-functional teams and engineering managers to develop kernel HAL, framework that enables user experience with next generation sensing technologies. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in software development. 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products. 5 years of experience working with embedded operating systems. 5 years of coding experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, or Python. 3 years of experience with software design and architecture. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction. 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects. Experience with Linux/Linux Kernel.
