Role Overview The Project Manager, National Accounts provides oversight for a portfolio of projects executed and managed by Johnson Controls under the direction of the Program Manager. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for project coordination, stakeholder communication, and issue resolution, helping ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with client objectives. You will work across internal teams and customer stakeholders to keep work moving, maintain project visibility, and support strong customer relationships. Key Responsibilities Oversee the planning, execution, and closeout of assigned national account projects. Serve as a single point of contact for clients on project and operational issues assigned by the Program Manager. Provide regular project communications to internal and external stakeholders, including progress, risks, timelines, and critical activities. Coordinate project sequencing, schedule adjustments, and scope updates to support delivery goals. Align operational support activities with client objectives and maintain clear standards, policies, and processes. Ensure proper resource alignment across individual projects and support field teams as needed. Monitor project performance, identify issues, and support resolution of risks, delays, and escalation items. Prepare and maintain project documentation, including playbooks, standards, installation guides, and project scoreboards. Support project reviews and contribute recommendations for improvement and implementation follow-through. Contribute to client QBR efforts and support ongoing customer satisfaction and account health. How You Will Do It Own project plans with accountability, follow through, and a consistent focus on safe, high-quality delivery. Stay close to the work by coordinating directly with field teams, clients, and internal partners to remove obstacles quickly. Track progress against plan, communicate changes early, and keep stakeholders aligned on what matters most. Use a project-controlled environment and Johnson Controls Playbook requirements to maintain discipline and visibility. Measure benefits, manage risks, and apply continuous improvement with candor and practical problem-solving. Work as one team by building trust, sharing information openly, and valuing diverse perspectives across functions. Balance customer advocacy with the willingness to guide clients when process or scope changes are needed. Support field project managers, installation managers, and technicians with mentoring, advice, and timely escalation support. Qualifications 3-5 years of physical security experience, including regular interaction with general contractors, property managers, and client stakeholders. Strong understanding of both installation and service elements of operational performance. Working knowledge of MS Project or Smartsheet to maintain accurate and current project timelines for client reporting. Experience managing professionals and leading project work in a complex environment with permitting and union considerations. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to lead or participate in meetings representing Johnson Controls. Technical exposure to enterprise-wide access control and video systems, or the ability and interest to learn these systems quickly. Strong organizational skills and the ability to adjust labor efforts to changing project demands. Experience contributing to project status reviews, reporting, and stakeholder communication. Project management certification or a willingness to enter the certification process if not already held. Nice to Have B.S. degree or equivalent industry experience performing functional project management in a complex physical security environment. Experience in the IT industry or engineering. Experience servicing clients in the power utility or regulated public sector. Exposure to National Program Standards, QBR preparation, or similar account governance processes. HIRING SALARY RANGE: $106,000 to $159,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
