Overview As the Senior Software Engineer for Scout Motor’s digital products on the Servicing & Repairs team, you will play a key role in the development and enhancement of our software products, from concept to deployment. Some of the key products as part of digital portfolio are – mobile and desktop applications, vehicle connectivity solutions, mapping services, production, inventory and planning optimization, servicing and repairs, and more. You will work with engineering managers, staff engineers, and cross-functional partners to design the technical underpinnings of the product. At the same time, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to be hands-on building key systems and will be directly responsible for the successful delivery of complex and large-scale technical efforts as well acting as a technical mentor and leader for other engineers. What you’ll do Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following: • Work with engineers & technical leaders across the company to ship interoperable products and systems on strong foundations that manage customer interactions inside and outside of the vehicle. • Lead the architecture, design, and development of complex software systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications and deliverables. • Develop high-quality, maintainable, and reusable code across the full stack, including front-end, back-end, and database layers. • Implement best practices and standards for software development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation. • Design, code, deploy and operate technical architecture and systems. Be a relentless advocate for improving the customer experience created by our architecture and code outcomes. • Mentor and coach junior team members, providing guidance and support to help them grow and succeed. • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, continuously learning and experimenting with new tools and techniques to improve our software development process. Location & Travel Expectations: • This role will be remote and based out of the Scout Motors location in Fremont, California. • This role requires occasional attendance in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time. • Travel: Domestic travel required, Valid driver's license required. Here's what else you'll bring: • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related technical field • 5+ years in software development, with a focus on back-end technologies • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, both independently and as part of a team • Proficiency in the front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, and/or Vue.js) and back-end technologies (e.g., Go, Node.js, Python, Java, Ruby, and/or Swift). Experience with a mobile app development framework like React Native is a huge plus • Knowledge of both relational and/or non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a passion for finding elegant solutions to complex challenges • Valid driver's license required Preferred: • Prior experience working experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment • Building RESTful and RPC APIs and microservices • Experience interfacing with an IAM / SSO system like Azure, Okta, or Auth0 • Hands on experience building on AWS using React, React Native, TypeScript, Go and/or Python • Experience building consumer facing applications What you'll gain The be
