A Day in the Life The Principal Professional Affairs & Clinical Education Specialist is part of the Surgical business Medical Education function, focused on developing and delivering healthcare professional education that supports the safe and effective adoption of Medtronic surgical technologies. This team partners closely with Medical Affairs, commercial, marketing, clinical experts, and physician faculty to create evidence-based learning experiences aligned with evolving clinical practice, product innovation, and educational needs across the surgical portfolio. This position is a remote role within the United States and requires approximately 50% travel to support educational programs, faculty engagement activities, conferences, meetings, and other business needs. The Principal Professional Affairs & Clinical Education Specialist leads the strategy, design, development, and execution of healthcare professional education programs that support clinical adoption of surgical technologies. This role partners across Medical Affairs, physician faculty, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop curriculum frameworks, educational content, and learning strategies that address clinical education needs and support healthcare professional training. Primary Responsibilities Define and maintain curriculum frameworks, learning objectives, learner pathways, and success metrics for healthcare professional education programs. Develop and execute multi-year curriculum roadmaps that support product launches, portfolio expansion, and emerging clinical evidence. Identify and prioritize education gaps through analysis of field insights, learner feedback, and program performance data. Lead the creation of standardized, compliant, and reusable educational content, including clinical presentations, case-based learning modules, facilitator guides, and digital learning assets. Collaborate with Medical Affairs, physician faculty, clinical experts, and cross-functional partners to include commercial teams to develop and validate educational curriculum and content. Facilitate educational programs for healthcare professionals focused on diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and technology utilization. Support physician-led education initiatives, consulting programs, and professional education activities that strengthen engagement with clinicians and healthcare organizations. Participate in scientific meetings, symposia, conferences, and educational programming activities to support procedural and product awareness. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience to include; developing educational curricula, learning pathways, healthcare professional education programs, medical education programs, or clinical training initiatives; sales/or marketing experience or Advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience. Experience developing curriculum, training materials, or learning content for healthcare professionals or clinical audiences. Experience collaborating with physicians, faculty members, key opinion leaders, or other healthcare stakeholders to support educational initiatives. Experience leading projects and collaborating across multiple functions to deliver education or training programs. Ability to travel approximately 50% to support educational programs, meetings, conferences, and business needs. Preferred Qualifications Clinical and sales experience supporting hernia, colorectal, gynecology, urology, bariatric, thoracic or robotic procedures. Experience supporting physician engagement programs, medical education initiatives, or professional society partnerships. Experience within healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or clinical research environments. Experience coordinating conferences, educational events, faculty programs, or meeting logistics. Knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements related to healthcare. For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
