Job description

Thanks for your interest in Oklo! We are searching for a Project Scheduler to join our team. Position Description We are seeking a disciplined and analytical Project Scheduler to be embedded within Oklo capital project teams and support the delivery of advanced energy and infrastructure projects. This role will develop, maintain, and analyze the integrated project schedule across engineering, licensing, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning. The Project Scheduler will provide an objective schedule perspective, challenge assumptions constructively, and ensure that forecast dates, logic, and progress reflect the project's execution reality. The Project Scheduler will partner closely with the Project Manager, Project Controller, Project Sponsor, functional leads, and external vendors to establish executable plans, identify critical and near-critical paths, evaluate schedule impacts, and support timely recovery decisions. This role interfaces directly with EPCs and other vendors to integrate external schedules, validate progress, and hold schedule contributors accountable for timely and high-quality status information. The Project Scheduler will work in close coordination with the Portfolio Planner to apply common schedule coding, calendars, milestone definitions, and quality standards. This role reports into the Sr. Director of Project Budgeting and Controls with day-to-day integration within assigned project teams. Specific responsibilities may include: • Integrated Schedule Development and Baseline Management: Develop and maintain logic-driven integrated project schedules, including activities, durations, dependencies, assumptions, constraints, planning packages, milestones, and interfaces with external schedules. Support baseline establishment and controlled re-baselining in accordance with governance requirements. • Recurring Status and Forecasting: Lead regular schedule status cycles with project teams and external contributors. Incorporate actual progress and forecast updates while validating logic, durations, remaining work, completion criteria, and projected dates. • Critical Path and Risk Analysis: Analyze critical and near-critical paths, total and free float, schedule sensitivity, and emerging risks. Distinguish true completion drivers from secondary delays and communicate potential impacts early. • Recovery and Scenario Planning: Develop what-if analyses, recovery plans, acceleration options, and schedule compression scenarios. Quantify the milestone and critical-path implications of proposed decisions, changes, and mitigation actions. • Cross-Functional and Vendor Integration: Coordinate schedule interfaces across engineering, licensing, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, vendors, and other external stakeholders. Facilitate planning workshops and schedule review meetings. • Cost and Schedule Integration: Partner with Project Controls and Finance to align schedule progress, forecast dates, cost forecasts, cash flow, and project performance reporting. Support objective assessments of physical progress and earned value where applicable. • Reporting and Decision Support: Produce milestone reports, look-ahead plans, schedule narratives, dashboards, and executive-ready insights. Clearly communicate schedule variance, drivers, risks, recovery opportunities, and decisions required. • Schedule Quality and Governance: Perform routine health checks and data validation, resolve missing or unrealistic information with status owners, and maintain compliance with Oklo scheduling standards, coding structures, and change-control processes. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience • 5+ years of experience developing, maintaining, and analyzing integrated project schedules for complex technical or capital projects • Experience supporting integrated schedules with at least 25 active schedule contributors or status owners across multiple disciplines • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining schedules in Microsoft Project • Strong understanding of critical path methodology, schedule logic, float, forecasting, progress measurement, baseline management, and change control • Experience facilitating recurring schedule status and planning meetings with cross-functional technical teams • Ability to challenge schedule assumptions constructively and translate detailed analysis into clear recommendations • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills Bonus Qualifications: • PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification • Experience supporting engineering, nuclear, energy, industrial, EPC, or other large capital projects • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project and familiarity with Primavera P6 or Oracle Primavera Cloud • Experience with DCMA schedule assessment principles or equivalent schedule quality metrics • Experience integrating cost, schedule, risk, and earned-value data • Startup or high-growth company experience Competencies We are looking for a Project Scheduler that is: • Comfortable being embedded within project teams while maintaining objective schedule integrity • Able to build strong partnerships with technical teams and hold contributors accountable for timely, high-quality information • Disciplined in separating schedule facts, assumptions, risks, and management targets • Proactive in surfacing critical-path threats and recovery opportunities before they become project issues • Confident facilitating planning discussions across stakeholders with competing priorities • Clear and concise when communicating schedule impacts to technical teams and senior leadership • Detail-oriented, data-driven, and committed to schedule quality • Adaptable in a fast-paced environment where priorities and project maturity evolve quickly • Excited by Oklo's mission to deploy ad
