Principal Marketing Lead – Global Public Sector & Defense Description - Job Title: Principal Marketing Lead – Global Public Sector & Defence Organization: HP Inc. – Public Sector Segment: Global Public Sector & Defence Role Overview HP Inc. is seeking a highly strategic and execution-oriented Principal Marketing Lead – Global Public Sector & Defence to lead global marketing strategy, coordination, and execution across priority public sector and defence markets. This senior individual contributor role is responsible for aligning global public sector priorities, scaling regional go-to-market programs, strengthening HP’s position in government and defence, and driving measurable engagement, demand, and pipeline growth. The role will place a strong focus on expanding HP’s defence market opportunity across Europe and Asia-Pacific, including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and India. Key Responsibilities 1. Global Public Sector Marketing Strategy Define and coordinate Global Public Sector marketing priorities across North America, EMEA, APJ, and other priority regions. Build annual and quarterly marketing plans aligned to business goals, regional priorities, and public sector growth opportunities. Align campaign strategies, messaging, content, events, and sales enablement across global and regional teams. Represent Global Public Sector needs in staff meetings, planning forums, and executive reviews. 2. Defence Market Strategy & Growth Lead HP’s global defence marketing strategy to grow defence TAM and pipeline across priority markets including: United Kingdom Germany France Spain Australia New Zealand Japan India Responsibilities include: Develop defence-focused go-to-market strategies aligned to regional procurement cycles and modernization priorities. Build marketing programs targeting Ministries of Defence, armed forces, defence agencies, defence contractors, and national security organizations. Drive thought leadership around secure AI, edge computing, cyber resilience, mission-ready mobility, secure collaboration, and workforce transformation. Partner with regional sales, alliance partners, and local marketing teams to identify growth opportunities and accelerate defence pipeline. Support defence-focused ABM programs for strategic accounts and partners. Coordinate HP’s presence at major defence events, industry forums, CIO congresses, and executive engagements. 3. Go-to-Market Leadership Lead global go-to-market planning across: Integrated campaigns Public sector solution launches Defence initiatives Partner and alliance programs Channel marketing Demand generation Sales enablement Executive engagement Coordinate launch readiness, timelines, communications, and stakeholder alignment across multiple regions and functions. 4. Executive & Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management Partner with senior stakeholders across: Public Sector Marketing Sales Product Marketing Regional Marketing Channel and Alliance teams Creative and Content teams Legal Procurement Finance Agencies and vendors Lead alignment across planning sessions, business reviews, project calls, regional syncs, and executive updates. 5. Events & Executive Engagement Lead planning and execution for global Public Sector and Defence marketing programs including: Government conferences Defence summits CIO congresses Executive roundtables Customer briefings Education and government initiatives Partner events Account-based marketing activations Own event strategy, messaging, customer engagement, executive participation, follow-up campaigns, and post-event reporting. 6. Content Strategy & Thought Leadership Oversee public sector and defence content strategy including: Executive messaging Campaign messaging Thought leadership Solution positioning Customer stories Videos Blogs Social media Sales enablement assets Ensure messaging is relevant for government and defence audiences, with a focus on secure, mission-ready technology solutions. 7. Partner, Vendor & Agency Management Manage relationships with: Strategic alliance partners Channel partners Marketing agencies Event vendors Creative partners Procurement teams External suppliers Coordinate vendor onboarding, contracts, purchase requisitions, budgets, risk reviews, compliance processes, and program delivery. 8. Campaign Performance & Sales Enablement Track and improve global campaign effectiveness by: Monitoring campaign readiness Tracking lead flow and follow-up Measuring pipeline contribution Supporting sales enablement Sharing regional best practices Identifying optimization opportunities Provide sellers with campaign summaries, messaging, account insights, follow-up assets, and enablement materials. 9. Account-Based Marketing Partner with regional sales and marketing teams to identify strategic public sector and defence accounts. Support targeted ABM programs through: Personalized campaigns Executive engagement Custom content Strategic events Partner-led motions Multi-touch nurture programs Focus on accelerating pipeline within priority government, education, defence, and national security accounts. 10. Reporting & Optimization Measure and optimize global marketing impact. Track metrics including: Marketing Generated Opportunities Pipeline contribution Campaign performance Event engagement Content engagement Sales follow-up Partner contribution ROI Regional execution effectiveness Provide regular updates and actionable insights to marketing and sales leadership. Qualifications Required 8–12+ years of B2B technology, public sector, government, or defence marketing experience. Proven experience leading global or cross-regional marketing programs. Strong experience in go-to-market strategy, integrated campaigns, demand generation, events, ABM, and sales enablement.
