We are WSP. The Opportunity WSP is currently seeking a Senior Track Inspector to join our Rail & Transit team in Toronto, Ontario. The Senior Track Inspector will be responsible for overseeing the inspection and maintenance of railway tracks to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in track inspection and a keen eye for detail. Your Impact Conduct thorough inspections of railway tracks, switches, and crossings to identify and report defectsEnsure compliance with safety standards and Metrolinx, Arema, CN Rail and CPKC regulatory requirementsOversee maintenance and repair activities to ensure timely resolution of track issuesCollaborate with maintenance crews to develop and implement effective maintenance strategiesMaintain accurate records of inspections, defects, and maintenance activitiesProvide training and guidance to junior inspectors and maintenance staffParticipate in emergency response activities related to track issuesStay updated on industry best practices, regulations, and technological advancements The skills that set you apart Minimum of 15 years of experience in railway track inspectionExtensive knowledge of railway track standards, regulations, and maintenance practicesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracy in reportingAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and interpersonal skillsValid driver’s license and willingness to travel as requiredRelevant certifications or qualifications in track inspection are preferredExceptional written and oral communication skills, including experience making presentations to senior management, elected officials and the publicExceptional interpersonal skills; the ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience; competence in clear, concise and tactful communication with senior management, clients, peers and staffStrategic, conceptual analytical thinking and decision making skillsAdaptability and flexibility including the ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change; andNegotiating skills within a context of political sensitivity and conflicting interests. Compensation AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104 100 - $138 000 MB & ON: $95 000 - $130 800 NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $94 100 - $124 900 Disclosure: The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
