Job description

Teamwork makes the stream work. Roku is changing how the world watches TV Roku is the #1 TV streaming platform in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, and we've set our sights on powering every television in the world. Roku pioneered streaming to the TV. Our mission is to be the TV streaming platform that connects the entire TV ecosystem. We connect consumers to the content they love, enable content publishers to build and monetize large audiences, and provide advertisers unique capabilities to engage consumers. From your first day at Roku, you'll make a valuable - and valued - contribution. We're a fast-growing public company where no one is a bystander. We offer you the opportunity to delight millions of TV streamers around the world while gaining meaningful experience across a variety of disciplines. What does the team work on? The Payments platform is the commerce engine behind Roku's transformation from a device company into a streaming platform with more than 100 million households across 15+ countries and $4B+ in annual Platform revenue. Every subscription started with a click of the remote, every movie rented, every Roku-branded device sold, and every shoppable ad tapped mid-show runs through systems this team builds and owns — powering the in-streaming, on-TV purchase experience that's been a primary driver of Roku's exponential subscription growth. The Payments platform supports teams across the company spanning every consumer surface — TV, web, mobile, and advertising — each with its own commerce playbook: Subscription Video on Demand/Transactional Video on Demand (SVOD/TVOD), direct sales of Roku-branded devices, and on-device shoppable ads. What is the role? The Senior Payments Strategy Manager owns the product strategy and roadmap for Roku's Payments Platform end to end — across both the money coming in and the money going out. This is the person who decides which processors, payment methods, wallets, and markets Roku invests in next, builds the business case for each, and then drives the roadmap that delivers them. The role owns the optimization agenda behind Roku's hardest payment numbers — authorization rates, first-payment success, renewal recovery, and payment reliability — working across authorization strategy, intelligent routing, retries and dunning, tokenization, account updater programs, and partner orchestration. It also owns Roku's payment provider and partner relationships day to day, from integrations and migrations through performance management, ensuring each partner's capabilities are productized in a repeatable way rather than rebuilt bespoke every time. Expanding the platform into new payment methods, markets, and regulatory environments runs through this role, in partnership with Consumer Payments PM on consumer demand and prioritization. Success requires deep partnership across Product, Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, Finance, Legal, and Compliance — and the judgment to tell senior leadership which tradeoffs are worth making and which aren't. This is a senior individual-contributor role for someone who wants to set the direction of a payments platform at this scale, not just operate one. For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $144,900 - $180,400 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off. How will I use AI at Roku? At Roku, we don't just use AI, we work with it. AI agents and smart tools help power drafts, analysis, and repetitive workflows, while our people bring direction, judgment, and accountability. We value curious, adaptable builders, who can show how they've used AI, agents, or automation to move faster, improve quality, and scale their impact. Strong candidates know how to frame problems, guide AI-assisted work, check the output, and learn quickly. Above all, they bring curiosity, adaptability, and sound judgment. What are the responsibilities of the role? • Own the full product lifecycle for the Payments Platform, including strategy, roadmap definition, prioritization, execution, launch, and iterative optimization. • Drive platform capabilities that improve authorization rates, first-payment success, renewal recovery, and payment reliability • Lead payment optimization initiatives across authorization strategy, intelligent routing, retries/dunning, tokenization, account updater programs, and partner orchestration. • Own payment provider/PSP strategy and commercial relationships end to end, including commercial alignment, integrations, migrations, roadmap coordination, performance management, and ongoing optimization. • Manage payment partnerships end to end, including partner strategy, relationship management, commercial and capability alignment, integrations, migrations, performance reviews, and ongoing enhancements, ensuring partner capabilities are productized in a scalable and repeatable way. • Expand platform support for new payment methods, markets, and regulatory requirements in partnership with Consumer Payments PM on consumer demand and prioritization • Partner closely with Product, Analytics and Data Science teams to drive experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, and data-driven optimization. • Serve as the primary lead for payments platform initiatives across the subscription commerce ecosystem • Communicate roadmap priorities, platform performance, operational risks, and strategic tradeoffs to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. What experience would help someone be successful in this role at Roku? • 10+ years of Product Management experience, with significant ownership of payments, subscription commerce, billing, checkout, or financial platform products at scale • Deep expertise across the payments ecosy
