ABOUT THE TEAM The Hardware Platform Org is the central engineering organization across Anduril to uphold the bar of engineering excellence, provide core engineering services, and develop core technologies for hardware development across Anduril divisions. ABOUT THE JOB We are looking for a Senior Manager of Configuration Management to join our rapidly growing team in Costa Mesa, CA. WHAT YOU’LL DO • Lead and scale the Configuration Management function within the Hardware Platform organization, building and managing a high-performing team of Configuration Management Analysts and Managers across multiple product lines • Own the strategy, standards, and roadmap for configuration management practices across Anduril's hardware programs, ensuring consistency and rigor as the organization scales • Drive the design and continuous improvement of engineering change management processes, including ECR/ECN workflows and change control boards • Organize and lead critical configuration control forums, setting agendas, vetting materials (business cases, inventory disposition recommendations, effectivity analyses), and driving discussions to clear decisions • Establish and maintain product configuration baselines (EBOM, MBOM, SBOM) in Teamcenter, ensuring compliance with industry and organizational standards across all hardware programs • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain leadership to manage cross-functional change implementation, impact assessments, and risk mitigation strategies • Define and track configuration management KPIs including cost of change, change cycle time, rework rates, and baseline integrity to generate actionable insights for engineering leadership • Own configuration management readiness for critical design gate reviews (PDR, CDR, MRR) and support FCA/PCA audits across programs • Champion the buildout of an end-to-end digital thread from requirements definition through as-maintained records, partnering with engineering teams to set requirements and improve ways of working • Develop and implement training programs to drive adoption of CM tools, standards, and best practices across Engineering teams REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or relevant disclipline), or equivalent years of experience • 8+ years of direct product configuration management experience, including product structure, parts, drawings, and requirements management • 3+ years of experience managing and developing configuration management teams • Demonstrated experience working in high-rigor environments (aerospace, defense, automotive, medical devices, or similar) • Deep knowledge of configuration management principles, practices, and standards (e.g., ANSI/EIA-649, MIL-STD-973, CM2) • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools for configuration management of complex hardware products • Proven ability to lead cross-functional change control processes and drive engineering teams toward disciplined configuration practices • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex technical and quantitative data into clear recommendations for senior leadership • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience with Teamcenter • Proven experience in the aerospace or defense industry with exposure to DoD program requirements • Certification in CM2 or equivalent configuration management certification • Experience building configuration management functions from the ground up or scaling them through rapid organizational growth • Database and analytics skills (SQL, data visualization) for CM metrics and reporting • Active U.S. Secret or Top Secret security clearance US Salary Range $191,000—$253,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
