Software Technical Lead, Display, Pixel

Job description

Drive complete development cycles of new Pixel display projects, from initial software design and hardware bring up, through to implementation, product testing, and launch. Own display domain features, such as foundational display device controls, automatic brightness algorithms, color management and calibration, image enhancement methods, and thermal and power management. Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver vertically integrated solutions, from different areas of our own phone/tablet display software team to Android platform partner teams and external vendors. Develop infrastructure supporting production devices by implementing new systems in areas such as telemetry, on-device diagnostics, and updatability. Develop in-depth expertise in display devices and SoCs subsystems, and apply it in real end-user Pixel devices. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in software development (e.g., C, C++, Java). 5 years of experience with software design and architecture. 5 years of experience with Android development or Android internals. Experience with Linux Kernel. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Experience with display technologies and concepts. Experience with display domain features (e.g., display device controls, automatic brightness algorithms, color management and calibration, image enhancement methods, or thermal and power management). Experience with embedded, mobile software development based on Linux. Experience managing or acting as a technical lead for small/medium-sized team.
