The Senior Accountant (Corporate Close) is a newly created role supporting the execution of the company’s month-end and quarter-end corporate close, including international accounting operations. This hands-on role prepares and reviews journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules and supports foreign subsidiary close, FX translation, intercompany accounting, inventory and cost accounting, fixed assets, and equity and stock-based compensation in accordance with US GAAP. The Senior Accountant will combine solid technical accounting knowledge with strong attention to detail and a willingness to take ownership of assigned areas of the general ledger. This position may also provide guidance or informal mentorship to staff accountants. The successful candidate will thrive in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment and bring a hands-on approach to their work. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys being in the office and working closely with teammates in support of the broader team goals. Key Responsibilities Close Execution • Prepare journal entries including cash, payroll, leases, and accruals. • Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules to meet close timelines. • Prepare and maintain prepaid expense schedules, including monthly amortization entries and related account reconciliations. • Ensure completeness and accuracy of assigned reconciliations each period. • Support adherence to close calendars and quality standards. • Investigate and resolve reconciling items and variances on a timely basis. • Prepare recurring and standard non-recurring journal entries for the parent company and its subsidiaries. • Work with other departments to obtain the information needed to prepare monthly and quarterly accruals. International Accounting • Support foreign entity accounting and foreign subsidiary month-end close. • Assist with foreign currency (FX) translation and related reconciliations. • Prepare and review international subsidiary intercompany reconciliations and support intercompany settlements. • Support consolidation activities for international entities. Inventory, Fixed Assets & Equity • Support inventory accounting, including cost of goods sold calculations and inventory reserve analysis. • Travel semi-annually for physical inventory counts and to meet with stakeholders. • Maintain the fixed asset subledger, including additions, depreciation, disposals, and construction in progress transfers. • Prepare stock-based compensation entries under ASC 718 and related equity account reconciliations. Reporting & Controls Support • Support monthly Flash reporting and quarterly flux analysis. • Assist with controls activities, including reconciliation and journal entry documentation. • Support ad hoc accounting projects and process improvements as assigned. • Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of necessary work papers and documentation. • Support quarterly board deck and audit committee reporting materials. • Support cross-functional business partners, including Supply Chain, FP&A, HR, Legal, AP, Tax, and Payroll. • Review the work of staff accountants and provide guidance on technical and process questions. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience • Working knowledge of US GAAP and the financial close process • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems • Ability to work effectively in an environment with reporting deadlines and demonstrated ability to support closes on a regular schedule • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while knowing when to escalate questions to a manager • Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and manage time efficiently • Professional verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications • CPA or CPA eligible • Public accounting and corporate accounting experience • Prior work in SaaS or subscription/technology industries • Experience in a SOX-compliant environment • Experience with inventory and cost accounting, fixed assets, or stock-based compensation • Experience with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany eliminations • Interest in learning automation and Artificial Intelligence tools Core Competencies • Attention to Detail – Precision and accuracy in reconciliations and reporting. • Analytical Thinking – Ability to investigate variances and resolve reconciling items. • Collaboration – Works effectively with the close team and cross-functional partners. • Adaptability – Thrives in a fast-changing, high-growth environment. • Ownership Mentality – Takes responsibility for assigned deliverables. • Self-Starter – Takes initiative and moves assigned work forward with limited direction.
